I preordered my copy of Gears of War today at a non-local GameStop by my office today. Never preordered before, not even for Halo 2. Hell, I haven't been this excited by a game SINCE Halo 2. I was at a customer's facility on the other side of LA when that one came out and took time off from the job to run up to Best Buy. Had my copy by 10:30am.

So today, I get back to the my lab and I am walking on air. Super stoked, be able to take an early break to go pick it up, play all night and maybe call in sick on Thursday. Then I realize my folly:

I sat here today with every intention of getting to work on HoggHead's sig, and was cruising through some of the stock I've GIN'd.

I worked 13 hours today.  

Now I have to compile a 'work completed'  report for my customer.

I have to be at he site in 5 hours.

And I'm salary.

Kill me now.

I'm working on Pleasant Valley road in Sweet Home, Oregon.  And to set the record straight,  the people are way cool.  It's just too nice with LA still on your sneakers.  I should be on Terrible Driver Way, or One Car Ahead Boulevard.  Maybe Shallow Midlife CrisisMobile Lane.

First it was "Service Outage Bubbles" and now Live is down for maintenance. Crap fire and save the matches. I spent all night piddling on Photoshop Elements cobbling together a completely amateur sig for one of our clanmates and then decide I'd play a little 360.

until the Portland Recon trip! w00t!  I'll be working in Eugene Wed-Fri, then pick the wifey up at the Portland airport Friday night.  Anybody know a decent hotel that won't raise the Boss' eyebrows when he gets the bill?

15 years ago today, I went to USMC boot camp. 10 years ago yesterday, I got out.

Man, I miss the Corps.

I don't know how many of you other members pay attention to your rep, but I do. It is directly related to why I joined 2o2p. I got sick of gaming with Timmies, people who I didn't know, and the random joker I didn't like. Modders, stand-byers, and general idiots were the reason I nearly let my XBL account lapse. I was sick of it. I got to the point that if someone didn't have a decent amount of stars, I didn't want to play with them. 2o2p is the reason I'm still on Live. I have a pretty full friends list and game with some of the funnest and funniest people I've never or rarely met.

A week ago on Friday, my wife calls me at work. Not unusual, but she knew my day was effed up out of the gates. When she knows I’m having a particularly busy or crappy day, she’ll wait until I call her when I have a moment to breathe.
