I was trolling EHOWA.com and came across a link to a female fighter pilot association. As tradition dictates, most pilots are super cool, and I have never had any occasion to think otherwise. My ex-wife was a flight photographer at Edwards AFB and was scared to fly. She never got a single second of flight time, but I got to see and do all sorts of neat-o crap that most Jarheads didn't have a chance to. The chain of command for her unit went Staff Sergeant to LtColonel, nothing in the middle. Her CO thought it was cool that our last names were very similar but asked me to call him Dan.

I got myself out of bed this morning and immediately the wife was getting me arnica for sore muscles and I staggered for the medicine cabinet.  Three Advil later, I thought my chances of making it through the with a minimum amount of whimpering was pretty good.

I recently went to Las Vegas on a business trip. Three days of work and SERIOUS play. Don't get me wrong, I was a well behaved married man, but my partner and I had a great time. Not much sleep, but a crapload of fun. Hard Rock Casino, Tropicana Poker Room, and the GhostBar at the Palms. Un-fricking-believable, I was one of the pretty people on the 55th floor of the Palms, looking out towards the Strip, with the wind whistling across the top of my bald dome. The new tower isn't open yet, but Hugh Hefner's suite was open and there were women swimming in the pool.

We ended the frickin' war today.  In the ever gnawing "I want more new shiny parts with which to demolish the competition" addiction, the squad is switching allegiance.  I know this will make most of the 2O2P CH addicts cringe, but we are not changing allegiance to stay within the group, but to be unabashed parts whores.  It'll be over soon, but we switched today.  New war, new parts.

Well, this weekend was a blast. I didn't get to play much, but we played as a family. There were adventures to be had, with the wife's car granding a coolant hose during the OU game, the neighborhood block party with a 25 foot inflatable waterslide and my godson's first birthday party. You gotta love new parents. They go totally apeshit the first year with the party, but in three they'll be turning kids loose in Carlos E. Queso's with pockets full of tokens and hunting the beer vendor. It was a blast.

This time I don't have to go out of town until the 14th of September, and this time it's off to Vegas.  Am I taking my 360?  Hell no, I'll never get it out of the case!!

First of the month is here and the new boss here is still humping our legs for production as if it was the 30th.  Last thing I want to do is actually work on the Friday before Labor Day.  I think I'll troll the forums and see if I can't incite a flame war!

I got home last night, finally.  The boy came home this morning and we got the dog to the groomers.  Boy went to work with me and we got the un-smellified dog this afternoon.  This is all wonderful, but I found out that when the wifey comes home tomorrow, I have exactly 7 hours to spend with her before I haul ass to the SF Bay Area! FUCK!  I guess I'll call Gaara to see if he's got room on the couch. 

The wife and I got back from 10 days in France on Saturday, my son came home from Oklahoma on Sunday, our beagle came home from boarding that morning as well.  Monday morning my new boss calls and says I have to be at a customer site instead of my shop so I hang out with the kiddo until his mother picks him up for his week vacation with her.  He's pretty pissed that he doesn't get to stay home, btw.  Early finish at the customer, hang out ot the pad with the wifey.

Back from France, and what a blast! Once you get out of Paris the country is terrific. I had one Frenchman engage me in a political conversation, but it wasn't "America Sucks"; it was "George Bush is leading your country down the wrong path". I had a few words about how 90% of everything that George Bush is blamed for is the result of the Clinton presidency being complacent about our national security. GWB just has the balls to do something about it; whilst Clinton was getting his gobbled on by a fat intern. Priorities.
