If you were a Cartoon...

At this exact minute: what would you be?  I think I would be the sheepdog (Sam) from Bugs Bunny.  Only cause I'm very sleepy.

Normally I'm a Wile E Coyote type. Big ideas: not so good on the execution.

Being your Kids Best Friend

We all have read articles about how trying to be your chhild's best friend isn't the best for them. They need a parent to parent them, not to be their buddy. I knew that going into this big adventure called parenthood, but no one really prepared me for how difficult that is.

Health care: Cat vs Baby

Hey.

I read a thread on 2o2p that got me thinking. It mentioned overmedication of kids, and how doctors give kids prozac like candy. That got me thinking about my daughter (Erica) and my cat (Guiness) and their respective "doctor's" appoinments.  They are both in good health, they both have no issues, they were both in for a checkup: Erica for her 9mo, Guiness for her yearly.

Confessions of an FPS Newb: Multiplayer Edition

I had done it! I took a huge leap forward and played my first FPS game: Halo 3. I enjoyed it, but it felt like a lie. Playing by yourself, or with a sarcastic husband is one thing, but playing with the other cool kids is another. As everyone was telling me, the only way to experience FPS, and Halo in particular is to play in multi player. I decided to give it a try.

Console? Check (thank you husband!)

Game? Check (thank you no late fees from Blockbuster!)

Clanmates? Check (thank you 202p!)

Turkey Day!

Yesterday was Thanksgiving day! I had a great time, I spent all day cooking: turkey, gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, beans, and a vegetarian dish: all root veggies and goodness.  Tasty tasty!  Today I am making turkey noodle soup: one of my favorite dishes EVER!

But Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that has lost a bit of its meaning. Do we really give thanks on thanksgiving anymore, or is is an excuse to eat turkey (note blog title).
