Big Purchase: Any suggestions?

Well, it's happened. I'm officially old. Step 1 was when I clicked on a button that said "Join the old guys?" and Step 2 was earlier last week when I said to my husband. "Hunny, what do you think about getting a mini-van?". Yep, after weeks of trying to fit a load of groceries into the same trunk as a stroller and not succeeding, we are looking into getting a new car.

Update for the challenge: Does "Goodnight Moon" count?

Since my last entry I've read a non fiction about pretenders, people who pretend to be people they are not. Usually it's people claiming to be royalty, like that woman who claimed to be Anastasia: the daughter of the Russian Czar killed in the revolution.  It was OK: I am always amazed at how creative people can be. One claimant was a poor lower class man living in Australia, claiming to be a shipwreck survivor and heir to a fortune. Anyway this guy has no money to hire lawyers to help him with his claim, so what does he do?

Grade 9!

This past week I revisited my youth, in particular it was like grade 9 all over again. Ah, grade 9, how horrible. I can clearly remember my first day at my new school. My best friend Kim K. and I were quite excited. We knew our schedules, and our courses, but the most important thing about our new school was Matt W. (sigh). We was older (grade 11 or 12) REALLY cute, was in a band and did I mention cute. So, we walk in to the grand halls of our new school, and who did we see? The ever gorgeous Matt. So Kim and I walk up to him and Kim says (and I will never forget this)

I can bend Time AND Space!

I can't find my copy of Frankenstein: I just know I couldn't have lost it, so I must have put it in another dimension or something like that.  Seriously, I was about 3/4 of the way through and it just disappeared.  It was an excellent read so far. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it. The language is different as it was written well over 100 years ago, but it isn't that tough to understand.  It is an example of Romantic Literature, lots of references to the beauty and wonder of nature etc.

Dammit, clicked the worng button: will finish story now

Anyway: point being there was money riding on this. And in university, no one was rich. Except for the cheater.

So, people start to notice that the cheater is doing well. I mean REALLY well. His "good" stats are sky high, but so are the "bad" stats (errors for instance). So they look into it.  On a 9 team roster, the cheater ( who was also in charge: don't ask) had 12 players. A full 1/4 more than anyone else, all racking up points for him.  Of course he's winning!  They eventually got things settled, but boy were people pissed off.
