In my perfect world of sports...

In my perfect world of sports:
Baseball would only be played in domes or retractable roof stadiums. The game is already very slow compared to other sports, a fact that hurts baseball these days, so we don't need to slow it down more with any rain delays.

A Hello and some random thoughts.

First, I'd like to say hello to anyone from OMM who runs across my blog. I'm glad to be a part of Da Family and I look forward to chatting, hanging out, and playing various games. That said, if you're at my blog, don't be shocked if you see completely oddball, random stuff. I tend to blog about anything and everything, depending on how the mood so strikes.

Random thoughts time... There's a new article over on MSNBC about painkiller use being on the rise and the article cites three reasons for the increase:

Healthy, maybe. Thankful, definitely.

I was chatting with my Mom yesterday and we got to talking about her neighbor. Her neighbor is 60 years old, has diabetes, and is on 14 medications daily due to both diabetes and the complications from diabetes. This, of course, reminded me of the fact that two of my friends have been diagnosed with diabetes (both of whom are the same age as myself), and another two of my friends appear to be on a collision course with diabetes themselves.

Pistol & car update.

Well, after the 5 day auction, looks like my Pistol sold. I'm getting $465 for it, $40 more than I had originally asked on the Buy It Now price. This is a good thing, since my wife's car took $435 to get fixed, inspected, and up to snuff. Though I do believe the rest of the money is going towards picking up John Woo's Stranglehold.

Sigh, the perils of used gaming.

I'm not a huge Ridge Racer fan, but I do miss my old Ridge Racer for PSP.

Since I no longer have a PSP, I decided I'd go ahead and pick up Ridge Racer 6 for X360.

Off I go to Gamestop, one of the very few places we have around here which buy and sell used games, and picked up a copy. The clerk gave the disk the once over and said it looked great. I also gave the disk a cursory glance and it looked damn near pristine. Confident in my cheap ass purchase, I get home and pop it into the 360.

Result: Unplayable Disk.
