So, my new job…..hasn’t started yet. Because it is an inter-office promotion my current bosses have the option of “not releasing me”. This is a rarely used ability for management to hold on to an employee if they were to refuse to train someone on their work, or if it is a critical position that ONLY that person can do. In my case they are refusing to release me until another section releases a person who was supposed to be filling an existing vacancy in my section. That guy is being held because he is working in a section that is the current pet project for one of the Directors.

As I said in a fit of excitement in my last blog, I have been offered and accepted a promotion. I am unable to even tell anyone in the office (aside from people I listed as my references or are directly involved, like my wife) because of the firestorm that may occur when they tell the other applicants that they chose me by a landslide over anyone of them. So, I get to sit here and have to keep my mouth shut while the people around me speculate and spread rumors about who they think got the job.

I know you guys don't read our blogs, otherwise we'd see advertisements for alcohol, video games, electronics, and porn but I will say it any way, please DIAF.  no one here wants a new Prada purse, (except maybe Lala and Nogame.------ ) and if we wanted fake Rolex watches we'd just go to a bad part of town and get them for a heck of a lot cheaper.   so if you MUST try to get us to click on your friggin website you could atleast camoflage it as something that we might want.
