Life Lessons By Comic™

Sometimes even the best intentions don’t work out just the way they were planned. Case in point comes from the drive into work today, and the radio show I routinely listen to. With the week leading up to Father’s Day, there has been a little contest / tribute that has been going on to help bolster Father’s Day to match – in relative “importance” – the equivalent on the other side…Mother’s Day. Umm…ok, whatever. So, to do so, the station had asked for submissions from children singing the praises of their fathers, which would then be read out on the air.

Oh yes...

...it will be mine.  Circuit City + lunchtime = FTW.  So who else is picking this up, and more importantly, are you on my Friends List?

Change is Good

Change, while difficult to manage, is normally a good thing. Even change for the worse can allow for better understanding of what works and what doesn’t than if you just maintain the status quo.

A Parents Note to the Coach

To those of ya' out there who have kids, and those kids who play recreational sports, I hope you will be able to relate to this. I finally had to send an email to my daughter's softball coach to call him out on some practices that he's been getting stuck in that isn't making the experience terribly positive for my daughter. For the backdrop, we are talking 3rd/4th grade fast pitch softball, and the first year the girls actually pitch for themselves.

Armed and Crazy

This can also be filed under Scumbag of the Day as well, but we’ll get to that in a minute…

How did I ever manage...

...without DVR?

OMFG, it is simply awesome - and that realization comes after less than 24 hours of having it in the house.  Yesterday, we had the 'ol Verizon technician by to hook the house up with FioS, their fiber optic service for internet, television, and phone.  They sold me via, if you can believe it, a door-to-door soliciation and a deal that was just too good to pass up on.  How good?
