Uncle Balek^2

Well, not content to go as far as the doctors would have let her (would have been induced on Monday), my sister took matters into her own hands and delivered a healthy, happy set of twins on Friday evening. Mother and children are doing well, and recovering nicely over at the Naval Medical Center in Washington.

Wednesday DVD Review™

Morning everyone…it’s been quite a dry spell with regards to blog-able material as of late, so I’ve been on the prowl for something that I can replicate on a semi-regular basis. In thinking about my passions – outside of gaming – as potential inspiration, I’m going to focus on my modest DVD collection (fairly out of date…I sense a weekend project) as a source.

Life Lessons By Comic™

Insomnia sucks.

Plain and simple, not being able to fall and/or stay asleep reliably is just about one of the worst things I can imagine. It’s absolutely maddening to know you should be asleep, know you want to be asleep, know that your wife next to you is asleep, but just can’t fall asleep.

It's review time...

No, not a movie or game, but rather my semi-annual performance review at the office.  I'm glad it has finally come, because there has been build up over changes in my job in the form of a promotion for - well, over a year now.  Fortunately I've been able to remain patient, but that has come to an end.  My boss hinted early last week that I was likely to be taking on even more responsibility than was previously discussed - actually taking over the workload of a wholly separate Assoc. Dir.

Things we do for our kids... the aftermath

All’s well that ends well. I think that holds particularly true as I reflect back on yesterday and it’s challenges. For those who didn’t read the last blog – and don’t care to – is that I’m fighting with some insomnia, didn’t sleep the night before, but thought it was a good idea to take the family to the latest Harry Potter premier.
