So, Be Gentle and Shit

I dabble in fiction from time to time. I wrote a series of short shorts a couple years back. thought I might post them here and see if you guys like to read. Heres the first one. Its called "The Diner."

Sam stopped in front of the diner, glancing back over his shoulder at the fog. He could hear them, out past the light, slithering across the street, the wet, squishy noise reminding him of a Cronenberg film. One hand under his jacket, he didn’t realize he was caressing the handle of a Desert Eagle, tracing the grip with his trigger finger.

From Engadget...

The guns cost $260,000 each and can mount a variety of lethal weapons. Currently around 15 CROWS units make it to Iraq each month, but the Army is hoping for 9000

Morality Play (Printable VersionE-mail to a Friend )
The Wachowskis do it again; this time the plot hits closer to home

Almost never just get to review one movie in a weekend.

Most of the time, two, three or four open and I’ve got to arrange the whole weekend around getting to as many as possible.

Blog Tip

Write it in MS Word or something else and cut-n-paste for the time being. Doesnt seem like the blog software likes apostrophes much.

Tick, Tick, Tick

No, this is not about Star Wars. Just bear with me for a second...

When I was a little kid and I’d just finished watching Return of the Jedi, I began hearing the rumors that there were, in fact, nine chapters to the Star Wars saga. Part of that rumor was Lucas had no imminent plans to make the other six.

That caused me no small amount of grief. By the time he got around to it, I’d be old. Would I even care about Star Wars when I was old? I needed to know what happened NOW, dammit (yes, I swore as a

Failure to Launch is just that.

At its best, film can be a transcendental experience. A good film can engage your mind and inspire you to look at your world in a different way. It can immerse you in another reality, taking you out of yours for a time.
