I don't sell a lot on ebay and when I do, I remember why I hate ebay so much.  I recently sold a set of Tennessee football season tickets on ebay for my father.  They sold for $1148.00.  I accepted Paypal (owned by ebay) for the payment of the tickets.  That cost me $34.03.  I just received an invoice from ebay for their services.  Add another $38.63 for their services and now my total amount to sell my tickets on ebay is a whopping $72.71.  Good grief.

It is that time of year again.  First day of school.  My wife loaded up the kids today.  Took one to her mom and dad's.  He turns 5 at the end of the month and he could have started kindergarten this year but we are holding him back.  Everybody says that it is the smart thing to do.  The oldest goes to 1st grade.  She teaches 6-8 grade science and I teach high school marketing.  I even gave out my first grade of the school year.  Check out Mike James comments to see what he got on his test.

My wife, a friend of her's and I took the kids and went gem mining today.  Western North Carolina is known for all their different gem mines.  We got a little lost, thanks Mapquest, but eventually made it to Emerald Village Gem Mines in Little Switzerland.  We had a blast.  You buy a bucket of rocks and take it to the flume and sift through it.  We found topaz, garnets, emeralds and a ton of other stuff I don't even remember the names of.  If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it.  Everybody was ready for lunch and I wanted to go through another bucket.  Good times.
