My Favorite Games - Commodore 64

After the Atari 2600, the next system I played was the Commodore 64.  My cousins had one and we played on it all the time.  I eventually got one for Christmas when I was 8.  I soon learned some BASIC programmming and had a pretty good sized collection of games.  Of them, these are the ones I most fondly remember:

My Favorite Games - Atari

I thought I would take the next few entries into some older games.  I started playing video games when my stepbrother got an Atari 2600 when I was about 5.  I guess I'll start with my favorite Atari 2600 games.  It has been a long time since I've played most of these so the descriptions will be pretty short.

1.

Adventure

- This game was amazing for its time.  You were a yellow block attempting to navigate a maze and pick up keys and swords to fight dragons.

It's About Literacy Y'all - Who Needs Grammar?

I noticed these posters at my daughter's school and just had to shake my head. They are from a campaign to promote literacy program awareness in Oklahoma, called Read Y'all, which is sponsored by our library system. The first one I saw featured our governor, Brad Henry, and his wife. Apparently, they are using anybody with any hint of being a celebrity in the state, such as James Garner, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood and Garrett Mills.

Soccer Dad

It came slowly.  I had to trade in the truck for a 4-door car.  Then I had to take down the beer signs and neon lights.  Next it was trading in the car for a minivan.  And now I've become a soccer dad.  Both of my girls are playing soccer and I think I have officially become the taxi service.  They are so cute and excited about it, so it's worth it.  Practice starts this week and games will start next Saturday.  I'll post an update after their first games.

Frontlines vs Bad Company

I just picked up Frontlines: Fuel of War on a recommendation from someone on this site.  I really must say, the multiplayer is very impressive.  I still think Bad Company is my favorite multiplayer game, but Frontlines does have some things it does better.  It has much better squad functions, so you aren't just randomly assigned to a squad.  You can actually apply to a squad and ensure you are playing with your buddies.  Also, the maps are much larger.  This is good because some games can be as big as 50 people, where Bad Company only allows up to 24 people on the same game and has much sma
