Back home and a blog for Ben

Hi guys, thank you so much for your prayers, emails, and calls about my dad. Thankfully we were able to bring him home tonight. After a lot of blood work, x-ray, and CT scan, they determined a couple of things. One is that he has a lot of arthritis setting in his back, which comes with his age. The other is his brain. Basically his brain is shrinking and his alzheimers has progressed significantly. There really is nothing they can do for him. He will continue on his meds and they will just have to watch him and see how fast it keeps progressing.

Quick update

Well, I had to bring Ian and Megan home, to be here when Jim got home from school and here is what I know so far. He had a CT Scan, X-Rays of his back and some blood drawn. We are waiting for results to come back. As far as it being a stroke, they did the typical tests of stroke victims, holding up both arms, squeezing hands and lifting up his legs and everything seemed normal. But, the doctor thinks there may be something else wrong with him.

Urgent

This is not what I had intended...for my second blog. What started out as a nice blogging day has just fallen off a cliff. Stacy’s dad is en route to Kennestone Hospital, his doctor thinks he may have had a stroke. He started walking funny yesterday, leaned over, almost 90 degrees to one side. He said he hurt his back, so we got him in bed and he ended up sleeping through the night, and wet his bed.

Answer to prayer

I have a couple of blogs today, full weekend. First is an answer to lots of prayer. I'm apologizing now, for the length.

Complete update

After a very long day yesterday Megan received her GJ-tube. You know Megan has been on a feeding tube since she was 5 weeks old so you would think that you would get used to this but each new tube is a new experience. This one is bulkier and longer than her G-tube that she used to have. This one actually has 3 ports. One is for her balloon, one is for her feeds and the other is for her medicinces. So, yesterday afternoon I spent some time trying to get used to this one.

Successful procedure

The procedure was a success and Megan now has a GJ tube, for her feedings. Now, the test will be, does it work. We will soon see. Everything went well, and as you can see, she is at peace. :)

Thank you all for your prayers. God was in that place. There were no worries at all, just complete serenity.
