Unfortunatelty a leaking washing machine kept me out of the shop for most of the day, but I did manage to get one project done. This is a bottle stopper I turned out of Olivewood. I'm especially happy with how the finish on this one turned out. I never thought that wet-sanding bare wood would make as big of a difference as it did.

Unfortunatelty a leaking washing machine kept me out of the shop for most of the day, but I did manage to get one project done. This is a bottle stopper I turned out of Olivewood. I spent last night doing a tweak to the setup of the shop to make things flow better, so not a very big update this time around. I plan on hitting it hard tomorrow and should have a big update on Sunday....

I had hoped to have a pen to show you this time around, but it turns out that the blank I had set aside for it wasn't big enough.This first pic shows what happens when the drill bit is too big for the blank you're using   KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

My Christmas present this year was a mini wood lathe. I have wanted to get into woodturning for several years now. The last time I used a lathe was in 8th grade, 20 plus years ago, and all I did was create a really crappy baseball bat that broke the first time I hit a ball with it. So, first things first, pics of the shop...
