I'm Back

We got back Sunday, drove all the way thru from Miami to Chapel Hill, 14 hours.  It has taken me this long to recuperate.  We had a lovely time.  The ship was one of the largest cruise ships at sea and was very beautiful.  We hung out at the pool, strolled the deck, went to all the shows, including an ice show, and ate and ate and ate, all the time.  I managed to not get toooo sunburned.  Got some pics in the gallery, if anyone is interested.  I gotta say, dancing in the street was the best part.  This ship had a promenade (street) right down the center, and at night they had various activi

My Adventure

Oh man!  What a nightmare!  Who would have thought that a snow storm in the north would affect me flying south from NC.  Wellllll, to make a long story short, we missed our flight out to Miami to catch our cruise.  Ack!  I spent a total of 5 hours either waiting in line or on hold to various airlines until I finally gave up and called Royal Caribbean and told them my story.  So, they were absolutely wonderful, and transferred our first reservation to a new one, leaving Sunday, instead of Saturday.  Of course, it cost us, big time, but I was determined!  There were absolutely no flights to b

PSA results

Well, results are in and hubby's PSA has almost doubled.  Granted, it is still a small number, but if you don't have a prostate, you are not supposed to have any prostate specific antigen, at all.  The only reason he would have an elevated PSA is if there is cancer lurking......  But, we are still in watch and wait mode.  That is ok with me.  So, back for more labs and such in 3 months.  Man, I hope we don't have to go thru all that again!

Hubby's follow-up MD viist

Today is hubby's next follow up appointment. His PSA has been slowly rising for a long time, now, but it is just about to the point where more treatment is needed. Ack! Been there, done that, hope we don't have to do it any more! I think if it was me, and I was virtually symptom free, as he is, I would not take the treatment. He has had surgery, radiation, and the side effects that go with that. Next is either chemo or hormone blocker shots (nasty, I administer them in clinic!). Chemo will make him feel like doggy-doo, or worse, and the shots "turn him into a girl" (his words).

Halo 2

So, I went to the East Coast LAN, and Halo 2 seemed like a lot of fun.  I finally broke down and bought the game.  Wow, am I a bad shot!  Interesting, tho.  Getting to kill things, and listening to my 4 1/2 year old grandson chanting "die, die, die...".  I remember the days when we refrained from saying words like, die, kill, and quite a few others cuz they were a bad influence on the child.  Ack!  Now he is the video game junkie, and, I'm afraid, it is all my fault!  That, and his 15 year old brother...  Well, that is all my fault, too!  When he was 3 years old, I would sit him on my lap and
