Tidbits and Thoughts

I have been working on The Plan for a little while now.  I am working full-time in preparation for 'who knows what' in the future.  #2 was to clean out my closets.  Well, I got a fair start, and stalled out.  I am changing #2.

#2:  Do more things for others that I also enjoy.

Oh, I know, that is vague.  But, I have spent my life doing for others, and getting nothing back, except, perhaps, a good feeling that I helped someone out.  Now, I am feeling a little more selfish, and I want back!  So, #2 gets a "list".  Ya, I like lists.

My first week of full-time

It is the end of my first full time work week in, um, six years?  I guess.  It's Friday!  Yay!  What have I learned in the last 5 days?

I've learned that it's kinda cool to come home and have supper ready and waiting.  I have also learned that I will be eating man-food for the rest of my life...

I've learned that you are special when you are per diem, cuz you are extra and so appreciated.  When you are full time and permanent, you are just the same as everyone else, a peon.

I've learned that my job is very tiring and I need to sleep a lot!

Ain't it the truth!

As I Mature

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.  All you can do is stalk them and hope that they panic and give in.

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I've learned that you can get by on charm for about 15 minutes.  After that, you'd better have a big willy or huge boobs.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.

The first day

I started the first part of The Plan today.  My first day as a regular, full-time, permanent employee of UNC Hospital.  Last job I worked for the federal government, now I work for the state of NC.  I had to take the time slot that was open, and it is 9:00 - 5:30.  All I can say is, it sux!  I get to work and the place is already bustling and I have patients sitting in my chairs that haven't been seen yet.  I felt like I was spinning my wheels all day, and now have an ugly red mark on my forehead for going up against brick walls all day.  Ouch!  But, I got thru my work, slung my chemo, admi
