The tv got delivered earlier than promised (YES!) and fuck, its massive. Almost too big for the tiny living room I have. Almost. ;) Looks like a frigging movie screen in scale to everything else. Setup was easy enough, I just now dug out a cable to hook it up to the 'net so I'll be doing that in a bit. Picture is sweet, any apprehension I had over this purchase is gone.

I spoke with the manager at the repair center my tv was taken to today, she told me that they were finally able to reproduce the problem.  And they were quite horrified at the noise coming out of the set once the issue manifested itself.  Yep, it was brutal.  She then explained to me that they were having an issue getting parts because the warranty company was being sort of difficult.  So the bad news?  I'm not getting that set back any time soon.  The good news?  Talked a bit more with the manager and she's going to try and convince the warranty company the set is a loss and needs to be re

Was talking with my old boss who was fired back in November.  He was talking with his old boss who had also been fired (see a trend?) and his old boss has a manager position where he's working that he wants my old boss to fill.  Long story short, my old boss told me that if he gets in he was told he could build his staff any way he chose and that he was told there was a supervisor who needed to be replaced, so thats where I come in.  Sounds nice, and I know this guy is true to his word if this is possible.  Not going to count on it cause you never know, but at least its one more thing float

I think the biggest problem I've encountered with my tv being out for repair is that I recently got hooked on Sacred 2 again.  That game is like crack to me once I start rolling with it, and generally once I get into it I go full-tilt trying to come up with the perfect build for whatever class I'm playing.  What usually brings me down to earth is that the campaign is so fucking mind-numbing (I've beaten the main campaign probably 2 dozen times by now) that eventually I have to stop because I can't take it anymore.  So currently I've been working on what seems to be a very functional TG buil

I've decided that once I get the tv back from the shop I'm going to put it on craigslist and sell it.  Nothing wrong with it, but I found a set I'd rather upgrade to so I need to sell this one, hopefully ASAP since this one is on sale only through Saturday.  I'm thinking $600 would be a good price.  The set I have currently is only a year and a half old and goes for $900 new, plus I looked into it and the warranty (good through December '12) can be tran

The repair dude came out this morning and decided he needed to take the set back with him to the shop to fix the audio problem, said something about it being modular.  So now I have nothing to game on unless I drag my 32" monitor out to the living room, which I'm not that ambitious.  Hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow, in the meantime there's a hole in my living room shaped like my tv.  :(

I finally got my HTS set up and the wireless headphones integrated.  I've never felt like such a freaking tard in my life, trying to get those headphones up and running.  Fortunately a buddy of mine lives a couple buildings over and had the spare time to come over and lend his expertise.  In my defense, he did need to diagram the whole thing out before figuring out how to set it all up so it worked.  :)
