Tryouts

I always hated tryouts for school teams when I was a kid. The feeling that some adult was going to judge you and destroy any chance of becoming that pro athlete that you always wanted to be...last night, my son went through this. He was on the 'Rep' basketball team last year. He had a blast, met new friends and travelled all over the Province. He is dying to make the team again this year. Problem is that he has moved up an age bracket and is now on the younger side. He was the tallest kid last year and now is one of the shortest.

What do you think about.....

....when a web page is loading? You know, that 3-6 seconds that you spend in limbo while the webz finds what your looking for?

I usually think of something else to look at. Internets needs to be quicker if it wants to retain my attention.

The Canadians are Coming!

Tim Hortons, aka, the best coffee this side of, well, this side, is coming to the Northeast US. Today, the Canadian coffee house announced a deal to put 82 stores and self-serve kiosks in Tops Supermarkets in New York, and Pennsylvania. I am so happy for you Americans, who now can share in the glory that us Canadians have been basking in for the last few decades.

Note to Timmys n00bs, don't drink from the self -service kiosks. It's not the same! Oh, and always get a double cup. Shit be hot.

This has to be a sign

When the misunderstanding gets this obvious, the bear market must be reaching a bottom.

The Power of the Turtleneck

Usually, a company's shares will trade on their valuations, earnings, and economic outlook. Not Apple (AAPL). Their investors have staked their investment on one man, one turtleneck. This morning, some douche decided to post a news report on CNN's iReport page (it's gone now, so I don't have a link). He said the Steve Jobs had been rushed to the hospital with a heartattack. Of course, this was not true, but the immediate response was this on my intraday screen....
