It's standard stuff mate, go there, kill stuff, collect stuff, go back, rinse and repeat. but get a few of us on TS and it could be fun...Well how could it not be LOL
I will have to DL the mumble client. I havent used it in a minute and will need to remember how to set the darn thing up. Also, just shoot a message to me and I will add you to my fl.
Mumble...Hmm never used that, I'll have to take a look. This server thing...I just logged into whatever one it logged into, how do I pick a particular one?
When you are creating your character, you have a choice of 3 "Shards", those are the servers. I think the first one (pre-selected) just happens to be "Beholder".
Mumble is like TS. 2O2P has a server setup, there is a bunch of info inside the Guild Wars 2 sub-forum.
@Oakrender I believe. Gonna take some time to get him up to a decent Tank but I'll get there sooner or later, much solo grinding down the sewers, at the moment I cant get past the final boss might have to bite the bullet and buy a bunch of potions but am getting a lot of server drops so am a bit reticent to spend real world money. Kinda fun though, makes a change to get back to a bit of MMO action.

You should never have to spend real money on potions. I don't think I've ever come close to running out of them but if you do, you can buy that stuff with Astral Diamonds I believe. Identify Scrolls are harder to come by at higher levels and I'm about at the point where I'll need to use ADs to buy some.
When you hit lv 16 make sure you get the Cleric Companion, she's really the only useful one of the freebies and you will need to use far far less health potions with her around.
Also, as far as I can tell gold in this game has very little use. Other than needing 5g at lv 20 to buy a mount, or 2g if you want a second Companion, the only thing you'll really need to buy with gold is injury kits, and maybe scrolls or potions.
@ Sherb... I tried @helios16v but it did not seem to work...
Now that I think about it, the person finder may only work if they are online... Lets try exchanging some mail. That seemed to work for Beefy and OS.
I tried that first, but it doesn't let you send mail to non-friends until you hit level 15. So I tried sending a FR out right after that.....maybe I screwed it up.....
Church an I had some fun last night, two hours just flew by, this is a real sink hole for time I sussed out this friending thing so I am Oakrender@Knightofredempt.
Just hit lvl 40, and honestly, I'm just figuring out how to really play my toon. The bigger boss fights are making me knuckle down and really think through the fights a bit to survive them.
As for gear, I've just been taking what comes along, I don't think it's that important, although a few of the things that have dropped and the game "recommends" I have said "thank you, no" to.
Oh your way ahead of me, still only level 7. Yes Church got it done, wouldn't let me out the dungeon and that puzzled me for a while and then worked out it was because you dropped off the server and I had to drop you from my party before it would let me leave.
I'm taking everthing dropped at the moment, and sell sell sell, as is the norm never enough potions
I got you added Sherb. Let me see if I can get Knight tonight. Maybe I can catch up with you guys this weekend or something.
Yep, saw that right before I left for Austin.
Going to try to get on at some point this week and make some headway. Going to be juggling rFactor, GW2, Nw and car projects..... It'll be busy for sure.
I've got a level 60 control wizard - Xanril, and then my alts in various states of under 20 right now - Devoted Cleric - Angorin; Great Weapon Fighter - Spider Rico; Trickster Rogue - Stormageddon. I'm on the beholder server, @angryjason is my handle. I'm finding the GWF to be lackluster, and the Cleric seems like a beast. I've never been a rogue-y type player, and am not too comfortable with that toon at all yet. I'd like to play the Ranger when that becomes available, but who knows when that will be.
I feel like I need to respec my CW since I didn't plan out my build as I was leveling. I think I made a couple mistakes in my build which sacrifices some damage I can deal. I'd like to give the game some more time though to make sure the build I'm thinking is appropriate.
Oldschool - level 40 is definitely where the training wheels start to come off. I was solo'ing my cw with ease up to around the skyhold area, and then the difficulty spiked hard. Around here, the boss fights start to spawn much tougher adds, which makes solo'ing extremely difficult, even with aoe spells. I started to buy a stack of health pots every time I hit a vendor, and it wasn't unusual to go through 40-50 pots in a zone. Luckily, in game currency (gold/silver) is quite useless so buying a ton of pots doesn't hurt. Check your gear score frequently. The gear score will dictate what dungeons you can play, and in dungeons you can get better gear.
One bit of advice for the lower levels - use your identify scrolls as you get them, then you can sell your unidentified/unusable gear for more. However, don't fall into the trap of buying scrolls for 45AD just to get some silver out of selling an unidentified item. It's not worth it. AD's are the currency of note in the game. AD's can get you new companions, mounts, gear and it's what the AH runs off of. Never sacrifice AD's for gold.
As for gear, it's quite safe to avoid the 'recommended' advice if you're going for a certain type of build. My main focus was getting stuff with slots and then fusing enchantments into better ones. One gripe is that you don't get any credit for fusing enchantments. I would like to see some sort of level progression where the more you fuse, the easier it gets. So if I fuse 10 level 5's successfully, why is it still an 80% success rate? Of course, the answer is "so you can buy kickass wards in the zen store!", but still, I feel it's an area of role play that is left unserved. One bit of advice - pray often - in later levels, you can get 4000 xp bumps just for hitting ctrl+i and it's a nice way to pick up AD's as well. Over the course of a day, the rewards for praying decrease in value, but you can still count on a good lift from them. Another trick I used in the 40 range was hitting the foundry if I was having a hard time questing. I'd play a couple missions (ideally while foundry was an event type so you can get extra AD's), level up and then go back to what was giving me problems.
Along with a guy from work, I was trying to get a guild set up, very small, but elite high level for endgame content and maybe pvp. I do have an enjin site set up for it, but unfortunately, some of our targets to join have been very slow on the uptake so he's guilded up elsewhere for the time being and I'm weighing options. If anyone wants to group up, ping me.
So what's to be gained with a Guild? More storage, a guild hall? Just a stupid name under your regular one?
I don't have a problem starting one (202P) but I think you need 5 peeps initially.
Main thing is a shared guild bank and the stupid name under your regular one. The main purpose is just to have people at the ready for whatever content the guild wants to excel in. I'm not sure if guild halls are in the cards for neverwinter, but I don't think they exist at the moment.
I used to play the original Neverwinter a lot while I was at Collage.
Downloading now to see what its like. I could do with something a bit different. Cheers lads

FR sent. Tag is @helios16v
Oldschool & Knight what are your tags?
@finiar I do believe it be. Trickster on the Beholder server just under 40.
Have a Wizard on the Mindflayer around 12ish.
I could not find you last night Sherb. I got Oldschool though!
Did my mail get through? Or did you actually find me? I didn't log in yesterday, was gone all day.
Hmmm.....I'll try again tonight.

The quests seems to grant more exp than simply grinding Knight. I have been doing skirmishes for diamonds though.
@ OS... Your mail came through loud and clear! I sent you a friend request and a mail with your handle information.
@ Knight... Sorry bud but I could not find you. I will try again. I think I may not have done @oakrender.
@ Sherb... I tried @helios16v but it did not seem to work...

Yeah it's the sewer rat quest I'm trying to finish, but that last boss kicks my ass because my poor bloke is such a wimp at the moment.
Shit... Now I better take a look. I think I am @Locgaw. My toon is Lock.
Maybe someone who knows how to handle a sword could give Knight some help killing the big boss guy?

All in party, same zone.
