Here's a question. I'm happy to go all-digital but I do have Battlefield 4 preordered on disk from Gamestop. Is there anyway I can "convert" this purchase to a digital purchase so I don't have to have the game disk in the system to play. I'm happy to throw the disk away and don't want to resell it.

solution there is don't pre-order from GS unless you're sure. That or only put down $5, so that's the most you're out if you change your mind.

Meh. It's from Kotaku is my first issue. I hate that site's articles. So you wind up with a controller that's maybe not your cup of tea. End of the world stuff? I have no planned prospects for Kinect. I'm going to wait and let it sell itself to me.

it's not going to be a "Wii U" - the Kinect, original version already sold 25 million itself without being packed in. It didn't affect the sales of 360 either way though. Didn't affect games negatively, only added bonus features and extra games that used it. The X1 is still next gen on par with PS4.

Oh Shadow... I don't know if you're trying to come off as a d-bag or you just don't know how to conversate. The PS4 isn't even on my radar anymore so that isn't an option for me. 500 dollars or 800... the point is, if the X1 doesn't take off. Case in point...Look at the Dreamcast. Still one of the greatest systems and really ahead of it's time but it didn't hit the audience it was intended for and failed. I don't know about you, but I know that if it fails and I dumped that much coin, I'm gonna be pissed. We're two months away from launch and general consensus is that it's not complete. Now I haven't had an oppertunity to play one yet, so yes I need to go by what reviewers say at this point.
My kids have a big enough vocabulary at 5 and 10 so no I don't cuss around them that much. It's not uncommon to here Ian yell "Oh fiddlesticks" during a heated match cause the kids are around.

Hey you may laugh but one of the reason we are getting xboxone so early in Ireland is because we will be getting "UK" models. In other words consoles that have been calibrated to UK accents. I presume that means some sort of generic middle class neutral English accent. The odds of this working for someone in Ireland, Glasgow, Liverpool, Swansea etc are remote to say the least.
you can say "i don't care if it's better, blah blah" but it doesn't matter. It's coming with the system and you need to deal with it or just don't buy one. I guarantee the majority will just deal with it. And eventually they'll find they like using it in ways that tailor to them, after they're done throwing their fit about never wanting to use it.
Honestly I've used a kinect once, ever. I'd never buy the original one because I had a choice and it wasn't ready yet. Kinect 2.0 seems ready to be what they envisioned and the system was built around it rather than adding it on 6 years after the system was created like Kinect 1.0. Also, we have no choice. Which in life is sometimes the best thing, whether you think so or not.
It didn't affect ANYTHING. Like I've said I've only used one once, and all games that I bought since it released have either not used it or used it as an enhancement feature. It's not a negative, only a positive. The new one seems like it really enhances the interface a lot, and will also be actually programmed for since it is part of the system innately.

Ok cancelled the BF4 preorder today. Well I actually tranferred the 5 bucks to my xboxone. A very pretty young girl served me which was a nice change!
BTW Gamestop in Ireland will be running an upgrade system from 360 to one but it will cost 15euro. That equates to almost 20US so screw that.
