Morning all! Got the windows open for a second day. I'm sure it's psychological, but I've convinced myself the fresh air is making me feel better. I wish the weather would stay like this year round.
I know this isn't the tv forum but I'm asking anyway: anyone watch the American Shameless? We love that show, but last night's episode had a few predictable moments. Usually when we start being able to predict what's going to happen next, we lose interest in the show. I'm hoping it was a one time thing...
Morning dude, Seems Winter has arrived just in time for Spring. Snow and black ice have come to visit. Took me an hour to get home from band practice last night insted of fifteen mins which meant I missed a race I have been looking forward to for weeks, hours of practice wasted. Well not entirely as I got points for quali, but looking at the results of the race I was well placed for a good finish, not a podium but close. Ah well such is life, on to the next, Formula One at Fuji.
yeah, gonna suck tomorrow when I get to stay home because it snowed...probably wear a short sleeve shirt around the house, play video games all day. Get paid for it.

It's the name of the game, if you really didn't care you would spend your life in euro truck simulator. You defend your line, overtake when possible, dude you race, it's the end result you are less bothered about I guess. Win or lose you are having fun, true for me but I maybe do care a little more about doing the best I can, and get a little frustrated when I don't do as well as I should, that is more important to me, not winning but knowing I have given it my best shot. Racing or any other aspect of my life, all gets approached the same way.
So ready for this weekend. Get to take part in a stress test for an upcoming PC game that I'm excited to see. Unfortunately those pesky NDAs are going to prevent me from saying too much about it.

In order to have fun with my limited skills and terrible memory I have to practice, what is the point of racing if your sat at the back all the time? I enjoy practice, it is part of the hobby. Some folk can just jump in and do a couple of laps and be on some kind of pace...not so me, so there you have it, to have fun I have to practice, same with my music, my swordplay, my racing, all require me to practice to get the most out of them. So It's just part of everything I do. I play other games with less requirement for that, FPS, MMO's, but they are short term loves, I play 'em for a while and move on to the best best thing. Racing is a little less game, a little more hobby than those I guess.
Practice is part of the fun. I have spent thousands of hours taking a tenth of a second off of lap times and just testing tunes...that's where the serious shit is. When I get into a lobby I'm usually just fucking around and hanging out...it's a chance to drive cars that I wouldn't bother trying to time, or to show off a tune for a car that others had written off. I'm not usually the fastest guy in the room but I always have a surprise or two waiting in my garage. ;)
7-8 inches of snow yesterday, nothing compared to the upper northeast, but hell, we don't have things like plows n such per se. Went out this morning and grabbed by ice scraper, started the truck, turned the heater and headlights on, and then couldn't find the wipers under all the snow. We had drifts, snow drifts in Tenneessee? Ha snow half way up to my knees.
But once, I got the windshield usable, my lil Dodge walked right out of it and down my 1/4 mile of "logging road" drive way to the back roads, which were harder to navigate than my drive. I had to use the 4wd all the way out to the main road.
First day off at work for "snow" in 12 years I've been there.
BTW, tidbit of V8 Supercar info on my blog today...
For the first time ever, I can't WAIT to have chemo (for autoimmune diseases)!!! I feel like Luke warm shit. (How's that for a visual? Lol) I'm dropping weight daily, I'm in constant, ANNOYING pain, I'm exhausted for no fucking reason, I'm having chills all the time, blah blah bitch bitch. Anyway, Tuesday cannot get here fast enough! The sooner I get my poison, the sooner I can expect to get some relief. (Someone remind me of this post when I check in just to bitch about nausea ;) )
Hey Oldschool! When we moved to PA it was a week before "the storm of the century" blizzard. I had an old Dodge Omni. Hubby took that thing out during the blizzard (he gets bored indoors). It was practically unstoppable! A neighbor went out with him in a 4wd little truck if some kind, and it didn't kick as much ass (er..snow) as that little Dodge! The thing was like a mini snow plow. *random Dodge in the snow story*
LOL, we had a Geo Prism in Michigan that would run down the side streets in 10 inches of snow. You could feel the snow rubbing the bottom of the car under your feet, and on it went!
I had the better one with the Toyota motor or I'd a never even looked at it.
But "my" Dodge is a 2000 Dakota 2door stretch cab 4wd. It's been just the greatest little truck I've ever had.
We also have what we refer to as "The Beast" for around the property, but still street legal, an '89 1/2 ton Ford Lariat short bed 4wd with big mudders that are almost as loud as the radio going down the road. It's old, but quite comfy, power everything, 302, 5 speed. The wife took that to work today. Her cars still sitting in a pile of snow, going nowhere soon.
Grrr so I had a meal in mind to cook for herself, get halfway through the cooking and go to the fridge for the cheese, what do I find, herself has nibbled her way through almost all of it and neglected to tell me when we were shopping...stop, start again. Ah such is life.

so this is my temporary farewell. I'm going to start chemo for my autoimmune diseases again tomorrow. I'll be offline for a few days at least, maybe weeks. Depends on how sick I get this time.

I've always thought the fun's in the middle. It is nice to win, but I don't have the drive to pratice countless hours, rather be in the fun zone.
