I've been watching youtubes of idiots driving exotic cars, why would anyone drive those cars on the streets? The best one was watching someone drive one into a lake, I'm like really? A lake....

Yeah seen a few of them, I'd kinda like to get an E-Type Jag or somthing of that ilk for a couple of days touring through the Swiss Alps, to drive fast, well a race school is the way to go, something I have been trying to plan for a couple of years, but either health or lack of funds has got in the way. Hoping to get it done this year, will have the funds, so it's just having my back behave itself...Something it is steadfastly not doing at the moment.

My buddy likes to do the race track thing and has watched a whole bunch of people who think they can pretend to be a pro and end up wrapping their cars around trees or crashing, not just exotics but all kinds of things. It's easy to maneuver at 40 mph but over 100 mph, mistakes have a larger impact.

This is the kind of design I like. New cars are too smooth, I like the harder edges. I like the idea of barreling down the road as oppose to slipping through the air.

While I can and absolutely do appreciate all walks of cars, I can't agree.  Newer sports cars, to me, are far more beautiful.  Lexus LFA (top) and Ferrari 458 (bottom) are two of my favorites.

I have to admit to giving in a little to sportiness, though the choice of the Tiguan is largely practice, my eye like I say is firmly fixed on the Edition R. The R is like the BMW M or Mercedes AMG. It's a drivers car. Same engine as is in the GTI, sports tuned suspension etc. Lot's of stying touches to advertise it's not a run of the mill school run ride. This thing handles far more like it's a GTI than an SUV, aces slalom tests and that is handy enough around our roads, there are four I am looking at, all 2015 reg and so very low mileage and close enough to new to make no nevermind. Closer it gets the more exited I am, like a kiddy at Xmas. Already planning the first road trips :)

There's a 2001 S2000 (red/black top) for sale asking price $7500. Anyone know what the going rate is on these things currently? Just paid off my last bike. cheeky

Edit: Oh, BTW, back from Hell. My freakin head hurts from the shift changes...worked one week each, first/second/third/ back to first Wednesday...

Oh I remember split shifts, used to do them when I worked on the rails. Finish the day shift at 18:00, go home, eat and be setting off for the night shift at 22:00. Killer. Can't help on the S2000, wrong country and believe it or not, not one for sale here at any age.

That's a little on the cheap side.  Lots of miles or minor mechanical/cosmetic issues?  The cheapest S2000 FS on Denvers Craigslist is $9500 and the rest are above $10k.

I'm lucky, in my field, it only makes sense to be awake during daylight hours; but I get to work at about 6:45 and leave around 5:30.

My normal hours are 6:45 to 3:15 which I absolutely love, have never worked third shift my entire life (except last week) and maybe 13 years ago I did 6 months or so on second. Seems like almost my entire life has been "early" starts for work. Had a job once where I drove 30 miles to start at 4am... working three different shifts in 3 weeks has taken the wind out of my sails a bit.

When I worked at the Executive Office of the President and then the Pentagon (24 of my 27 year career) we worked 60-70+ hour a weeks 6 months out of the year.  An early retirement opportunity came my way when I was 49 (at least 25 years of government service at any age) -- I took it and never looked back.
