Nicely done DEEP! Did you get there mostly using exotics from 390?
I've been trying to get all of my characters into the 390 club, but it's proving a challenge. I almost feel like it's a bug because I keep getting the same pieces of gear from my ranking packages.
As an example, I've been trying for either a Heavy or Special at 390, but all I seem to get is a Primary. I don't mean just one or two packages, but at least 12 over my characters over the weekend. Also, I seem to be getting the same pieces of armor over and over.
Finally, when working on the Weekly bounty from Shaxx yesterday, I got a Heavy upgrade from a post game reward. I guess it's a good thing IB is coming this week.
I was hoping to save my exotics for the grind from 390 to 400, but this is getting dumb.
Darth. IB at least has a machine gun as a potential drop. Knowing your luck, I can see this going 2 ways. You'll only get machine guns, and nothing else, or only pulse rifles.

I was having the same trouble. My Titan had 398-399-400 everything except for gauntlets, which were 395. Just could not get gauntlets, so I ran some 3oC farming with my Hunter and got an exotic gauntlet engram. Transferred it to my Titan, and then decrypted the engram to a 399.
The new Phogoth strike loot chest usually includes Hunter gauntlets, so if you get a key....
Alas, I haven't seen a skeleton key drop in weeks. I had two stored away and used one recently to try to upgrade, but no go. Not sure who I need to sacrifice to get a skeleton key :).

Yes, the heavy lifting was mostly done by exotics. Since I had a complete selection of weapons and armour, I was able to carefully apply decoded engrams to the lowest LL item I had. I would do that until the ghost, class item and artifact were lower. Then I'd head to the Forge and I wouldn't decode exotics again until they were higher than other equipment. I really had to pay close attention to my lowest LL items.
There seemed to be barriers at certain LL like 390, 395 and etc.

Unless they changed something... We had people who were 15 or more LLs below ours last IB and they were still quite effective at killing us. Now that could be because I'm not a great PVP'er but their bullets still hurt quite a lot.
Yeah, looks like you lose 1% of damage for every 5 levels you are lower than your target. It doesn't sound like much, but a lot of times that small difference is just enough to make you need one more trigger pull to make the kill. In a primary battle that's bad enough, but when your shotgun blast fails it can make a person salty!
Destiny pushed a patch out today. Not a lot of changes.. A couple of fixes, and more siva key fragments for killing bosses. Have to say I'm happy to see that one. It would be nice to have enough to make keys for chests and have some for re-rolling equipment.

Players will now earn SIVA Key Fragments at an overall increased rate
The first time a Raid boss is killed on Normal difficulty they will drop three SIVA Key Fragments. For the next kill that week, they will drop two, and then one for the third kill that week
After the fourth or greater kill, the boss will no longer drop SIVA Key Fragments for the week
The same behavior will occur for killing Heroic bosses

The nightfall this week should be doable. Although it is fallen at the beginning and they can be a pain. The public events and pulse rifle kills go quickly in the forge.

Those curves are what I was referring to, along with a write up discussing damage and whatnot. I'll see if I can find it.

Finally finished the Thorn quest. After a month and many strikes, I got a Key.
Nice. I need help from a Hunter and Warlock to run a bunch of Plagueland patrols to advance my Outbreak Prime quest.

If you're a fan of the Memory of Skorri artifact, the one available this week has a very good stat roll (I 32, D 46).
Ranger and I can help with this quest too. At the moment we have the following to offer.
I have a hunter who can help out with any phase of the quest, and a warlock that is on step 1.
Ranger has a Titan who can help out with any phase. His warlock I think is on doing the raid again and his hunter I think is on step 1.
My Titan is on step 1 -- nightfall, public events, etc.
I can run my Warlock in nightfall with you Sunday night.
