The solo method of opening the Vault works for 390 too. There is a chest in the hidden path used for the "No Time to Explain" quest. I didn't open any chest yet so I don't know what is in them.
Didn't know about the hidden chest. The first chest gives you a Knuckle which can be used to enhance a drop, a legendary engram, and I think armor materials or some such.

Any idea what happens for other people if the chests were opened before they got there? I wasn't sure, that's why I didn't open them.
Should not be a problem. Opening is only linked to you. Did this all the time back in year 1. When we go in tonight if we decide to use the checkpoint then anyone who hasn't opened the chests should be ok. Here is a video showing how to open the door and get to the hidden chest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MArejBJuBc
Several of the folks on my fireteam last night opened the hidden chest and just got a legendary engram and ammo. Wondering if opening it might be a chance for an exotic, like at the piston wall in Kings Fall.

It's so easy to get, it's always worth the try. :)
From a posting on reddit, it looks like any of the chests have a chance of an exotic now.. Except for the spirit bloom chest. That remains to be only spirit bloom apparently. I got a 400 red death before the Templar last night. So either it came from a chest or the confluxes, not certain which, but I know I had it before we started the Templar fight and didn't have it before we started the raid.
Started having problems over the last couple of days with my "newer" elite controller. Turns out it was a rechargeable battery that was starting to fail to hold a long charge. I cannot use my controller "wired" to play and charge since it has to be connected to one of my Slim's USB ports to sync and the Slim's 2 ports are already being used (external drive and wireless headset base unit) so to use it for an extended period of time means a new rechargeable battery -- or -- possibly setting up a USB hub (one USB in, multiple USBs out) to allow for more than 2 USB connections to the Slim (thanks and a tip of the hat to SC Ranger for the suggestion). Hopefully this will work and I won't have to buy new batteries as ability to charge diminishes -- cost of a rechargeable battery is actually higher than a 4 port hub.
A simple non-powered 4 port USB 3.0 hub works! Used one of the 2 USB ports on my slim and 2 ports on the hub, one for my wireless headset base unit and the other to a play and charge cable. Headset works fine and controller syncs with the Slim when the play and charge cable is plugged in. I will still use the controller wireless but can easily reach the play and charge cable when the controller battery gets low. Problem solved.
The nightfall this week is a blast if anyone is interested. Fallen SABER with solar burn, airborne, ironclad, exposure and daybreak. We cruised through it quickly 3 times last night and had a lot of fun doing it. I hardly used a gun the entire time, your grenades will spawn back quickly and there was really no need to shoot until the boss room, and even he melted quickly with grenade and super spam.
Tried the SABER nightfall with 2 other members of my age group at a late hour. We kept getting the stuffing knocked out of us at the Warsat and bailed after the 3rd wipe. I think I did notice the grenade perk, so maybe if we'd all been tossing grenades things might have gone differently.
Duke, I'd suggest trying it again. With a titan use the grenade that sends a flame forward. A warlock with solar grenades will cook everything dumb enough to walk into it. Need an extra boost, have the sunsinger pop their super. I swear it felt like I threw 30 grenades in one super (I'm sure it was less, but I couldn't hit the grenade paddle fast enough!).
The only one I really used a gun with was the hunter. Oh and a dragon's breath can add more fun to the mix. And don't forget to jump a lot... and I mean a lot. Toss grenades under ships, jump up and hover... watch the damage numbers go up. So many burns.
A Sunbreaker with Armentarium, full super and the doubled grenade recovery turned on allows you to throw nearly continuous Thermite grenades. I think I can solo this one.

Well, not quire, Lol. I tried to solo it but kept getting taken out by a camo'ed Vandal with a solar cannon. It took a number of tries to get past the Warsat but after that Deep and I were able to get to the final encounter without too much problem, both as Sunbreaker Titans. At the end we had issues with the snipers until Cheez joined us and we wrapped things up.
With a full team set up and equipped solar this NF is very doable.
The update is scheduled for the usual 10am PDT (1pm EDT), Don't know how big it will be, I don't think the size has been announced.
Thanks! I was going to turn on the XBox this morning to check, just in case, but forgot. I'll do so as soon as I get home.

New VoG mechanics are already out. From what I'm reading there are now 4 rounds of oracles. 9 spawn in rounds 1 and 4 & 7 in rounds 2 & 3.
Less rounds, more oracles per round.
Yep. There was 7 rounds before, with a slow increase in the number that spawned each round.

...or the chests in WotMG. I got a Knuckle on the first chest I opened so there is a chance for more than just an engram.
You will always get a Knuckle on the first chest you open each week in the featured raid (one per account).

I got a Bad Juju last night. I believe it came from the second chest (the one behind the tunnel in the long vertical drop).

Now that is good news!
Ever wonder what your per hour cost of playing Destiny is? Someone actually set up a web page and API to figure it out:
https://remybach.github.io/destiny-return-on-investment/
Check it out.
For me, $.08 per hour, which means I need to get a life, LOL!
Played a bit of WotM with bungie.org members. We were at Vosiks 2 when I left for the night. Just like last time.
