I don't have much to complain about in D2 but the colour scheme for the radar was too muted for me.
I have trouble seeing dim red and D2's radar seems dimmer than in D1. I've compensated for the problem by picking a colour blind scheme which changes the red to a bit yellow. It works great for me in D1 and Titanfall. No luck in D2 though. Way too muted for my liking.
We had some fun exploring in the new strike last night - such a HUGE area - I'm thinking this has to be one of our new patrol zones. I'm getting more familiar with the tweaks to the gameplay and the new skills (Warlock Master Race...lol). Be sure to read your new subclass skill trees for some helpful hints.
An example would be the Voidwalker grenades can now be charged using a small amount of super energy (super does not have to be full charged) and this greatly improves the effectiveness of the grenade. The axion bolt gets two extra seekers and the scatter gained tracking (think Nothing Manacles). The Dawnblade subclass grants some cool perks too, include a Twilight Garrison-like dodge - very cool!
1. The lighting and graphics seem to be lacking. I don't remember any time of day changes so I expect big changes in Sept.
2. The soccer ball was immediately attracting, even to old dudes like doorgunner and myself but those fireworks are going to get annoying.
Glad you guys got to see The Farm. I didn't realize that they were going to show it. And for one hour only? Good grief.
Anyhow, I thought the beta was a lot of fun. The new abilities and weapons felt a little awkward in my hands, but promising. The mission and strike were long and varied. Crucible seemed just fine with four man teams. I presume the levels are somewhat smaller to compensate, because there was no problem finding someone to shoot. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the experience they've cooked up for us!
Remember that "seeing" the Farm really wasn't for us - it was a load/stress test for Bungie.
Been having a lot of fun playing Control and getting familiar with the subclass abilities. Countdown really relies on a combination of skill, strategy and communication. Not fun playing with randoms, so much better with a full fireteam.

Agreed Blam. I actually really enjoyed Countdown more that I thought I would - especially once I got a little more familiar with the map.

If the Beta is still running 11pm Tuesday (7-25), I'd be glad to join a beta crucible fireteam. I played Control at least once for each character.

During or outside D1 Priv matches?
Outside. That's why I specified 11pm. I also should have added "Eastern Time" to make it clearer.
D1 Private match on as usual tonight, 9-11pm ET (7-25-17)
The more I played of the Beta, and got familiar with some of the changes, the more I'm enjoying D2. The game is similar enough to still be Destiny, but different enough to feel fresh.
Yeah! I always thought that public events were some of the best experiences to be had in Destiny 1. Having a threat pop up out of nowhere and forming an ad hoc team to deal with it gave me more of a "we are all out saving the world together" vibe than any other Destiny 1 content. Very excited to see more variety and challenge here.
Any ideas on how to upgrade a pre-order? I pre-ordered the base game download but would like to bump up it up a notch or two. Can't figure out how to do it without accidently ordering it twice. I recall you upgraded, BLAMnation?

You will have to cancel your current pre-order, and then re-order the package you want. If you preordered digitally via MS/Xbox, just go to your account page and find the preorder and cancel it. Then search for the package you want and order it. The digital download sitting on your box should be unaffected, but if they automagically remove the cancelled preorder, the new one will download once your preorder is placed.
That's what I did. I had ordered the base game and then went back and got the one with the expansion packs.
If you preordered from another online store or through a brick-and-mortar store you'll have to follow whatever their ordering policies are. HTH.
Howdy guys. Ive been away on a break as usual (and my already woeful crucible skills have atrophied) but still part of the group thankfully. Will the site still have a clan and is there anything we need to do for D2 to transition over? If you guys see me around and need a partner feel free to hit me up. Ive missed Destiny. GT Von Zant

I've noticed you on a few times. We still have three Priv Crucible nights to go before D2. Come out and join in :)
I don't know what 2old2play is doing for a D2 Clan. Dsmooth will have to choose whether to bring the D1 Clan roster over to D2 or to simply start a new Clan.
If there aren't any spots in the D2 Clan, I 'may' start one just for D2 Over 50.
Im only 47 but have the skills of a 75 year old, so hopefully I will qualify. ;) Im getting curbstomped in crucible when I solo join by teams of level 2 people with green shotguns. Let me know whatever yall do. Solo crucible is painful. Will try to join the private matches this week. Id rather get curbstomped by you guys. ;)

The Farm was okay. Nice change from the Tower.
My two issues.
1. The lighting and graphics seem to be lacking. I don't remember any time of day changes so I expect big changes in Sept. 2. The soccer ball was immediately attracting, even to old dudes like doorgunner and myself but those fireworks are going to get annoying.
Beta will continue to the 25th. I guess pre-orders were simply unnecessary marketing crap.
Disagree, Deep. More like a controlled ramp-up through marketing and a reward for those willing to pre-order.
Watch out or you're going to take over my title of "The Old Curmudgeon"!!!!!

Excellent intro to the new open world stuff. Very exciting.

Beta ends Tues 9pm Eastern
Thanks, Blam! If I have time, I'll take one last visit well before I start up the private matches.
I read that too. Isn't the owner of "The 2old2play Community" dsmooth?
Just checked my phone: Founder of The 2old2play Commmunity is ElektraFi and Admins are doodirock and DSmooth
Here are more details on the new clan process:

Saw that. Looks sweet! Wonder how much of the weapon fire and super use will translate to the actual game.

Looks like the D2 preloader (98.8 M in size) showed up on my xbox yesterday finally.
Maybe Bungo has it fixed today.
