What you see is what your going to get from me, my time of hours of practice in Forza are over. I'll do a few laps before the race and see what happens.

The only practice i put in, is when people join the room at 7.30. I use that to learn where and when to make passes.
Yeah you lot have been at it for years, I have only been at it a few months...If it wasn't for the problems with my recent races I would still be doing it, but there you go, each to their own. It is something drilled into me by doing martial arts where there are three rule to getting better. Practice...practice and...um...oh yeah, practice.
you can practice all u need but only takes 1 mistake from you or me or somone else etc to spoil your hours of practice and dash your hopes of a podium finish fast lapping is one thing racing is sumin else. personally i hate practicing lol, i just play, drive a few laps see what i can do and thats it. i know ill be near the back, its where you get the best view :), spend your time looking forward where your going, not at whats beind you waiting to pounce lol
For some reason for the EUSL I get very tense before and during the races and it affects my driving, but when I race on a Tuesday I am more relaxed and I always seem to do better. My tip for the day "Don't drive angry, just chill out man" . For relaxation tips you can ring my hotline 1800-relax- fitzy. Warning premium charges apply sexy voice will cost extra.

if you are tense how can you ring your own chat line to relax, have you pre recoreded yourself? i dont want no prerecorded sexy voice i want live premium rate sexy voice!
Practice will give you times, but it wont give you the traffic management, to get the traffic managment you have to learn the car and how it will behave. Being aware of your surrondings also helps as an exmaple - if some one mis judges their brake spot, move out of their way as they'll be a passenger once they go sailing by that point of no return. Learning to avoid accidents is all part of racing and I've seen this all improve no end by the guys, really rewarding to see people just keep getting quicker.
Fitzy, tensing up is normal when its a competition. I've found the best thing to do, is get in the surrondings early and turn some laps with everyone so you feel at home. I know you can be quick enough to play with the fastest of us. :) My self, if i tense up then i look for the car infront and focus on closing the gap and hitting apexs, it distracts me from the pressure :D
..pussy....sexy voice....telephone line....tension....extra charges....??????? I am in the wrong forum, I guess.
If not, here my comments:
@knight: I like people, who want to get better and do something for their goals.
@tourni: You're right with that traffic thing, but I try to solve that problem with my trainingsplan: After running laps on my own (new car, new track), after comparing with some other times and vids (if availbale), I use the AI-drivers for traffic simulation and then I race in lobbies. That chaos sometimes is a good school for staying away from trouble. Well, all that is hard work and I tell that my wife everytime.
Tourni, you are right, but if I look too much behind me, I am getting so stressed and nervous, that I am nearly unable to drive. So ......
There are only two types of guys behind me: The most of them are so much faster and experienced, that they always will find a way to catch me. Only sometimes. on very rare occasions, there are slower racers behind me. They don't need my attention too.
its all part of learning, Clay and Kiwi have the same effect on me :)
I dont mean know in detail what they are doing, just where they are and how they are closing in. That way you'll know to prepare for an evasive manouver or a pass attempt :)
some thing else to look at - Anyone who has had my training session will regonise what this video is talking about :)
Okay point one, yes hot lapping is not racing, it is is getting to know the track like the back of your hand, learning alternative lines essential when in traffic. It also gives you a chance to get familiar with what the car will do and not do in your hands, as you say Tourni learning how the car will behave. Better to find out on your own rather than in traffic. I don't do it to get faster laps, I get them more often than not during a race.
I am no longer tense when I sit at the start line, I know the track, given the space I am as fast round it as I can be, and as those who have followed me trying to get by know ,I drive very well defensively...very controlled very contained. I only get pissed when I get hit because of lag, or careless driving...If you don't like practice that's fine by me, but I treat this like everything else in life, I look to the professionals. In the off season pro drivers practice, many of them on sims as well as on track. There is not a single skill in life that does not benefit from practice. I treat track night as practice for traffic awareness, as long as I am racing with someone, wherever that is in the pack I stay on, if I am out on my own I drop out and wait for the next race.
Anyway in Forza the point is mute, due to lag, lousy MS updates causing all sorts of issues it makes taking racing on it seriously, pointless, so I move my practice to iRacing and rFactor and do just enough in Forza to get by.
Like I keep saying it's each to their own. For me stuck at home on my own much of the time it's a hobby that I take seriously, for others it's a pop on with a beer and have an hours fun on the Xbox.
online and ready to play.. sadly still have not got round to getting a mic, no idea where my old one has gone to.. i have a couple sets of normal PC headsets but they dont work on xbox >.> can kinect be used as a mic lol ? though i dont want you spying on me thru the race hahaha
bummer knight >.< i can only just head chat with no headset and comin thru speakers. the races were very good fun, i find i struggle for teh 20 laps though my concentration drifts and then make mistakes. 1st race i was keeping with zetrul and felt i was doing very well indeed then after 10 or so laps i lost focus and came off track then he was bye bye, then had HC tourini and parcells behind me and struggled to keep up with them lol ;).
second race was fun midpack i just couldnt keep constant enough to really make headway against the people infront but was fun racing none the less.
i did notice though that the final hairpin was a very weak point for me and down that back straight even if i though i got good exit people were flying up to and sometimes past me with little effort.
good fun though just need a mic so can talk/hear better. was nice to have a few people around me to race with rather than AI drivers, i was trying to be cautious with not slamming into people and giving room to people (when i saw them/knew where they were) :D
@Knight - Your headset wasn't working - or atleast it was flashing up but couldn't hear a anything.
@Shifty, for your first outting you did absolutely brilliantly. This track is a very hard track to make a pass on, a little bumper nudge let was used to let others know i was there but you held your own in a field full of really quick people.
On the whole, i was really impressed with the racing and the battles that were going on. The racing was absolutely supurb tonight, really well done guys :)
:0 thanks, it was odd i kept looking at the place/timer/distance thing and not sure if it was you or HC was up may ass but the distance thing said a few hundred tf and for a bit couldnt figure out wtf lol then realised when i got a lil nudge and the person came past and my place didnt change was like ahhhh its a Alien!!!!!! :P
i was feeling a bit suprised how well i was doing at times, going into it blind more or less with unknown factors can defo had some fun. Thanks :)
Another abosolutly shitty sub day especially in 95% throttle during first race ,freeze for 5secs and all other crap going on. Race 2 the same shit less freez and 95% th - but bit of lucky see battles on front and getting possitions...
Subaru is good only when You can get away in first lap and pray that behind is some snooker cases.
Yes that is one of the roadsters.
Should be some good close battles tomorrow :D
Fitzy's put a time right in the top part of those.
What you see is what your going to get from me, my time of hours of practice in Forza are over. I'll do a few laps before the race and see what happens.

practice is for PUSSYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSS
See i've been to the gizzie school of motoring :D

Well then Knight, you have your own answer.

hahaah, its a good plan as the AI do brake at odd points which is kinda troublesome when you are closing in fast :)
The point i was making is that you should keep an eye on your review as much as you do the front.. :)

Pedals disconnected at the start, I called for a restart and nothing...thats me out for the rest of this series.
Bad luck Knight, we couldn't hear you at all. When it rains it pours.
