Oh contraire Mr. Sherb, Helios, Chris or whatever the hell you call yourself smiley Parcells can be very anal when it comes to rules which is why every week we follow the GT5 guidelines verbatim as documented in the OP of this thread else Parcells would get confused and possibly upset. Without rules chaos runs rampant and we can’t have that in Parcells GT5 lounge.

If you doubt this just ask the last guy who tried to submit a spec car 10 minutes past the deadline for spec car submissions (ref: rule #3 of the “Spec car” section). That’s right, you can’t ask him cause Parcells “took care of the problem” if you know what I mean.

This is why I have decided to not alter the rules that have worked so well for 1.5+ years, not because the lawyer is suggesting it.

That said you’re not buying any of this because you’re smarter than the average bear and for all intended purposes your comment is dead-on accurate as documented in the “disclaimer” section which clearly allows Parcells to change the rules as he sees fit.

See you guys tonight!

You didn't miss a thing Wheels. Race is always on but this week we have no spec car so we'll run whatever we feel like.

We should run some of those "Random" generated ones.  Forget what it's specifically called.  Had some great times with the Integra vs Ram.  49  Sometimes it took 2 Integras ganging up on a Ram to by.

Edit:  I think it was called "Shuffle" races.

Ughhh, red bull machines? Might I convince you to replace with some Ferrari F1 machines (you know based off of real race cars)? Shuffle races are doable, been a while.

Ultimtely whatever the majority wants to race that's what we'll do.

Sorry Wheels, I thought you were literally trying to kill Parcells. This may be SIM racing without the inherent dangers of real life cars but I swear that Red Bull machine could still physically harm you, game or not.

That's not a bad idea Chris and honestly we used to run them somewhat regularly (either recommended cars OR shuffle races) just forgot about them for many months. We'll be doing them more often.

Stupidest idea to cross my mind last night was when I thought I might actually have a chance to win the Monaco race when I got into first with a bit of separation from Dan in his fucken half tonne truck. It was only a matter of time before he barrelled down on me.

Parcells is also eagerly awaiting College ball to start but one or two Saturday games are sufficient for me, Alabama/Michigan Saturday night Oh yeah!!! Couple days ago on ESPN there was poll to see if people thought a non-SEC team could win this years championship...51% voted yes, Parcells didnt think there were that many crack heads in the US?

Sorry I missed last night guys.  Did you end up doing some F1 racing?  If not, we should think about doing some next week.

Parcells, you apparently are a crack head yourself.  Do you know who is #1 right now?

No F1 last night and if no one builds a car for next week in the next couple of days I’ll declare it an F1 spec car week…there are only two F1 cars right?...both the Ferraris. Drive either one on mostly, if not all, F1 tracks of course.

Parcells is only a weed head but geeze Craig have you no understanding of context whatsoever? First it’s pre-season NFL now its pre-season college rankings are you fucking kidding me? Let’s allow some actual meaningful games be played before you admit no one will dethrone the SEC this year, it certainly wont be USC! (actually it could be USC but let's keep this real)

Next thing I know you’ll probably think your Huskies stand a chance, it’s sad really. crying

I'll get off my ass this weekend and get that TVR finished up.

If we wanted to run Ferrari F1 next week & TVRs the following week, I'm down.  I've only got the 2010, and with the cost I don't plan on purchasing the 2007.  I'd imagine I can crank power down if need be though.

Craig really wants to drive the F1s and he actually has a life so we'll let him decide which week we run the Ferraris...let us know Craig why not this week if you're running?

For some reason I think that the 2007 & 2010 are basically identical, if anything the 2007 may have a slight handling advantage from internet feedback I recall reading some time ago??? I think I only own the 2007 but then, I only passed 190 cars a couple weeks ago. 16

What tyre compound do we prefer? Race slicks seems the obvious choice but they may deteriate quicker than desired?

Lets go racing hard, but leave the option of using SRF.  These cars are easy to spin.

2007 or 2010 Ferrari F1 cars will work.  They are very comparable performance wise.

Racing Hard or even Mediums will last plenty long for our short races.  The Softs however will likely be going off in the last couple laps.

FYI,

I took the F1 car out this morning to compare hot lap times (Nurb GP) with, practice mode Offline,  Online in a room, with and without skid recovery.

Both Offline and Online were comparable lap times, but had a different feel, online felt somewhat slower, seemed to need less braking going into the corners.

Online I did about 7 laps without skid recovery 1.37, then 2 laps with skid recovery knock off 2 seconds 1.35, tried again without  got it down to 1.36.5.

All were clean laps, but with skid recovery, I was using more of the track with less braking.

sad  I'm out tonight.  Got a BBQ I'm heading off to.  I'll try popping on if I'm back at a reasonable hour, but it'll probably be far too late.  I'll get the TVR finished up this weekend (Friday?).

I did!...But the reason I did not come back was on account of me bouncing against the wall EVERY corner. I practiced with the Ferrari for a couple of hours and had no issue plus the speeds were kicking. Of course I was running the braking line and had the skid recovery on PLUS traction control. It doesn't take a genius to figure out if you are having issues running a slow car what are your chances of having NONE when you run a F1??..laughlaughlaugh I still haven't figured out what this Skid Recovery is all about. I have no issue running without assists  in Forza (Except the Line) but in GT5 it is a issue. I know some of you guys here like to run with no assists (Or Soft Tires & Hard Tires) and I have no problem with it and respect it. I also know that it seems like a Badge of Honor to do so but for a guy that hasn't aquired the skills to do so it just doesn't work for me. So I am with Rusty for Thursday Night. When and if I aquired the skill to run with no assists I will be back but until then it will be Forza for me where Skid Recovery and assists, whatever they may be, is no issue. All is Good!!!....coolcoolcool
