Wheels, I also have the Fanatec wheel and I have both the wheel and controller active. Turn the wheel on first and get it all set up and then turn on the controller. This will put the controller as #2 but you can access the dashboad by pressing the PS button on the controller and then use it (the controller) to type and send messages without turning off the wheel. When your done with the dashboard, press the PS button again on the controller and your back in game on the wheel. Works for me just fine.

So is the tune locked to the default settings or can we tune the adjustable parts?
i was under the impression we had to drive it with stock settings?
inregards to the assists does that apply only in a lobby the first time you race online with a new car? Cause I had done a bit testing with the assists off

You can tune any adjustable part EXCEPT the transmission and aero settings. You must run as called out in the OP. As for the assists, I believe its anytime you get in a car for the first time.
How many people drop from parcells parcells room? I know he has regularly has 10+ drivers.
Every room I have currently hosted hasn't had any issues so it so be good to sort any issues asap
I have been doing Parcells' GT5 night for almost three years and have never been booted from a race or lobby. I do occasionally have trouble getting in, but it usually only takes me trying an extra time or two to get in. There is no magic setting that Snappy or Parcells can trigger. There is nothing for either of them to "sort." Rather, you need to candidly look at your own set up. You should connect via a wired connection. You need a beefy Internet connection. I just tested mine via speedtest.net and I am getting 60 mbps down, 12 mbps up. If you have the option to get that kind of speed, do so. Are your kids doing youtube or netflix? If the answer is yes, either tell them to knock if off while you are racing or get a beefier connection. My daughter does youtube all of the time on my wife's iPad and I have only had one or two out of over 1000 official races in iRacing where my connection was compromised due to the streaming. Do you have a newer modem with the appropriate docsis rating? If not, junk the one you have and get a new one. How about your router? Is it 10 years old? If so, buy a new one. How about the cables between your Internet provider's input signal and your modem? Are they old cables from the 1980s? If so, replace them.
@Wheels, and everyone else I guess-Monza with chicanes.
For those who couldn't get in the lobby. This advice was given to me over at GTPlanet:
Nat 1 ps3 plugged straight into a modem Nat 2 through a router Nat 3 you have to check your router settings and open the correct ports for the ps3 to communicate properly
Might be worthwhile to confirm NAT settings for everyone who did manage to get into the room - my PS3 is NAT Type 2 with uPNP enabled. Have been in lobbies hosted by Parcells2 and Grim as well and never dropped. Did lose microphone once at some point in a lobby with Parcells2 though I could still hear everyone else fine.
Just bought a new router and a nice one and have it all opened up and it's all good. I can connect fine with xbox and get in any room and use mic. I can connect the ps3 with almost any room except Snappys today and use mic. My Nat is Type 2 with uPNP enabled also. Speedtest show 28mb down and 2mb up all is hard wired. We have restarted rooms before to accomodate, seems like some weren't too accomodating today tho and it's not just my observation. Maybe next time.
But get this, I checked my PS3 and I didn't have the latest update. I updated it right away. Do you guys think that might have been the issue? Also, my headset was cutting in and out through he race today. I also ran laps tonight with Brnt and I could hear him but he couldn't hear me. Gameplay sound was fine too. What he hell?
Wired to router 120down/12up Nat type 2. It may be worth doing a speed check on the PS3 and see what speeds you get I don't get anywhere near what my pc gets.
Update checked my PS3 speeds 19.1 down/ 2.5 up :-0
mic problems will never completely go away...seems very random and affects most if not all at some point. Comes and goes throughout the night from my experience.
Lets hope Snappy's lack of upgrade contributed to yesterday's issues as Brnt stayed connected to Snappy's room last week.
Some level of accomodation for people having issues is reasonable but there comes a point where you simply have to go with the majority that aren't having issues or else you risk losing people that did make it in and are expecting to finish the race at a specific time. I feel Snappy delayed as long as he possibly should yesterday. The needs of the many...
I know that there were problems for some when trying to join my lobby last Sunday. I checked some things out and noticed that I did not have the latest update for my PS3. So, I'm recommending that between now and then folks check and update to the latest software for their system. I'm not sure if that was the cause of the problem or if it was NAT settings but it can't hurt to get that squared away. Also, I will be logging on early ask people can try to connect early. That way we will know if there is a problem a bit sooner and we can try to address it. Also, from what I understand folks should have their NAT setting to Type2.
I had a chance to run a few laps with snappy at Daytona today, took a couple of laps to figure out as it was my first time...fun track iam not sure what drafting was set too but it was a bit insane IMO :) I was hundreds of feet behind snappy coming out of the last corner leading onto the oval and caught up quit quickly iam not sure if you were letting up or not? But after doing it a few times on the last lap I was able to catch up and even take my foot off the gas and coast behind without hardly losing any ground and all it took was a quick tap of the throttle to be back on your bumper it was like I had des enabled
Now depending on skill level from my point of view if your capable of hanging with the front runners you could exploit this due to the fact the person ahead has no advantage what so ever compared to those following so you could just follow some one literally coasting on straights saving gas, tires than come last corner blow by him with ease.
now this is easier said than done and only mentioned it cause it seems the pack run similar times for the most part and I would hate to see the last lap look like what happened in the wtcc this yr at Salzburg lol
If your running the draft at weak its still at least 5x stronger than the real setting!
Try it on strong it insane!! lol
Being relatively new to GT on line I took "weak" very literally. I may have to change this to "Real". I expect drafting to be a factor at a place like Daytona but from what I've seen and what Kurupt describes it may be way too much. I'll update the OP with this change.

No stress snappy. Me and grim did a bit of testing so just sharing the knowledge :)
It occurred to me today that I had not addressed Cautions in this series. I'm generally inclined to not use Cautions in my events BUT I have seen some really clean racing thus far. It makes me think that Cuations could work with this group. I've never used them in GT6 so I have no idea what complications may arise. Any GT veterans have ideas or examples of how they have worked in the past?
Some of the issues that come to mind:
Communication - we can't always hear each other or be heard. We've all seen that happen. One guy doesn't hear the call for a Caution.
Requirements - when is a caution called. More than 2 vehicles would be my suggestion.
Who - who calls the caution? The person who was struck or the striking vehicle?
Anyway, I have just a couple days to make a decision and post it. The only other alternative is to run Race 1 caution FREE and then evaluate. Sorry for the late notice on this issue. Let me know what you think, guys.
The only thing I can think of would be issues with communication. Who counts down the restart? Does that person have a headset/mic that is working. Could make things interesting
IMO, cautions should only be used in oval racing. Since we are doing road racing, I do not think we should have cautions. We are a good group of clean racers and this car has plenty of grip. Accordingly, cautions are unnecessary.
My two cents only, as always, take em or leave em...
This has been the cleanest racing iv been involed in and I can't think of a time when contact has been made. I would go with no cautions. Iv learned to just get back on track and get on with it. As I know 99% of the time it's accidental the other 1% is churches fault.
Wheels, I also have the Fanatec wheel and I have both the wheel and controller active. Turn the wheel on first and get it all set up and then turn on the controller. It appears Monza has no time change there for no time progression :(
I know, but have no fear. I will be testing the weather set up and there WILL be rain. :-)
I need MapoUK and ruddy to get a GT6 number and post it up for the list. Thanks guys.
I'm currently trying to convince Ruddy to join 2Old2Play but in any case he can't make these races...not home from Church in time.
Okay, have to scratch him from the list.
