1 - Shorten the race to 22 laps Max. You can only record 48 mins of a race.
2 - I reccomend that everyone have to us eht full pit exit on the left and join up with the track after turn one. Otherwise if you allow people to join the track right away, you could have an incident as that is a fast turn people are braking into and to have a pit exit just before the apex will cause issues. The actual full pit exit to the left is much metter than in FM4 and you dont have sticky grass and should be pretty easy for everyone to manage.
Again, just my suggestions. Take them or leave them

Very well, so shall it be.
22 laps and all drivers are to use full pit exit. I will review these new terms as we are in the practice lobby.
In a hosted lobby when pushing hard I was able to hit a 2.01.200, there's 2 turns I haven't figured out yet and know there's more time on there. if one of the club aliens was to put out a sub 2 min lap I wouldn't be surprised. I hope to have my race pace in the 2.02s I just need a few more tweaks to the tune and figure out those 2 turns. The key to good lap is hammer the curbs and carrying a lot speed through turn 1 while being able to keep your foot to the floor through the chicane leading back on to the oval. It's a tricky track but for the most part aside from turn 2 there all pretty high speed turns. A stiff suspension that's a bit tail happy with some mild drifting will help rotate the car and allow you to get back on the throttle quicker coming out of the slower turns.

Outstanding Kurupt!!!.....My run was no tweaks..Straight Stock Snappy Tune...OHHHHH OHHHHH!!!!!....Back of the Bus!!!!
P.(arcell)S. Kurupt...I personally think you are a Alien!
CPro...That is So True...Always enjoyed your tunes...That may be the answer...Take the 3 or more fastest guys with tunes and hopefully they will share and give guys like me a chance to try them all and see if any one of them works ....I think we all know that tunes are not everything in racing but sometimes and I mean sometimes it is what makes the difference between being somewhat competetive or not....Personal Opinion.
I also agree a good tune can make the difference and while it certainly does play a part on who may have an advantage but in longer races like this series I don't beleive it is the biggest factor in who will win. I beleive the biggest factor is consistency of the driver which usually the better drivers have regardless of tune. In a short race a tune plays a huge part but one or two major slip ups which can easily occur over 40 minutes of racing is much more damaging to your overall race time vs. half a second here or there which is is totally dependant on you driving a perfect lap which you simply cannot do lap after lap after lap.
And as we saw in yesterday's first race at Brands Hatch race strategy also plays a huge role especially if you dont get it close to right.
Building and tuning a car for open class races will make a massive difference, but not for this series for a few factors......
we have the exact same cars, and there's no adjustable tuning to the aero and gearing which is where you usually start at knocking off time. A suspension tune which these cars are just allows the to adapt to the drivers liking. As for the tune iam running it's the same as my monza tune just added one knotch the the rear arb and upped the brakes since iam not using abs 1 anymore
The seconds are lost with good track knowledge and finding the right lines and the most important part is knowing your cars tendencies :)
when I first started practicing last I was mind fucked at how you posted a 2.04 as I was only running 2.08&09s so I started working on one corner at a time and changing my lines and breaking points till time started dropping off than once I was below your time I started going bawls to the wall to see how far the car can be pushed which was the 2.01 but if you tried running that for an entire race it would only be a matter of time till you recked yourself, so just back off on places were you know there could be difficulties.
on a dry surface this car can be pushed a lot harder than you think, aside from clipping the grass I don't think I've spun it so far....the base set up and car in General has massive amounts of grip which allows you to toss it around when need :)

This... The whole point of this series. Fast guys will be fast but for mid pack and lower drivers this series is about focusing on being consistent and learning the track(s). It's about concentrating lap after lap. Picking your spots to make a move or make up time. The bonus is that these cars are actually fun.

I thought I was getting off easy blaming the tune but now I got to go back to work!!!!

Damn Kurupt...Why couldn't you just be satisified with just being CLOSE like Snappy!!!....
i was online earlier dialing in my car and GGG snuck into my room. we hooked up on the track and ran balls-out, door-to-door for 3 or 4 laps... up until i pulled along-side him on the backstretch and forgot about the chicane DOH! if tomorrow's racing is anything like that then we're in for a hell of a fun race. as long as you can stay close to the guy in front going through the inner track then you'll be pulled back together when you draft on the speedway course.
Just ran a practice race with some of the fellas and this little car is a fucking blast! Best of all,at Daytona you run outta gas before tires so it will probly be Soft's for the whole field. I cant wait to race, this should be awesome!
For anyone struggling with setups here is a handy tool that I use. It's a setup calculator based in Microsoft Excel. Simply fill in the columns on the left side (which are based on the stock specifications of your car) and the program will generate a baseline setup for you. From there you can test your setup and then let the program make changes for you (read the thread below for instructions.) I'm no setup guru, but this program is what I rely on for my setups. If any one has questions I'd be happy to help out.
1. enter specs of car with default settings. Make sure Suspension Level is 2 and Corner Entry and Corner Exit are both 0 since these are the default settings
2. Test the baseline results out on the track to see how the car feels
3. If the car needs major changes (way tight or way loose) then change the value of "Suspension Level." Higher values (3,4) tighten the car, lower values (1,2) loosen the car. Changes here make pretty big handling changes to the car, so only use this if you need to make a big change to the chassis. Up or down one value is about all I've ever done.
4. If the car's overall handling feels good but you're having trouble entering or exiting corners then you make minor changes by changing the Corner Entry/Exit settings. For corner entry a positive number loosens the car and a negative number tightens the car. The effects are reversed for Corner Exit. These settings make minor changes to the chassis, so this is essentially where you work to fine-tune your setup. You'll spend more time tweaking these setting than you will changing the Suspension Level.
NOTE: the transmission settings in the program do not work - just disregard them You're on your own when it comes to transmission tuning!
Here's some advice: always keep notes before you make a big change to your setup. Once you start tinkering it's easy to screw up what might have been a good setup, and if you didn't write it down then you're back to square-one. Also, pay attention to how the Excel sheet changes the values based upon your input. It will help you learn how the settings actually work so that you can make minor adjustments on your own. The program is good, but it's not perfect.
I also use this same program for all of my base tunes as well and I agree with Indy that it really works well. The only thing I disagree with is the transmission settings as they work just fine for 90% of the cars our there. The only time its a bit difficult are on the real high or real low HP cars but even with those you can get them to work.
Holy shizzel I was just running some test laps at Daytona (test drive not lobby) and running mid 2:05's and decided to switch up my camera views. Tried and loved the bumper cam,BUTwhen behind my ghost I could'nt see the track ahead. I did however learn from it. So switched to bonnet/hood cam and thats when it happend. After running about 12 laps I got down to a best time of 2:00.552! I could'nt believe it,5 seconds. Now I understand that lap times are slower in the lobby but this gives me hope of doing better in the race than I did in the practice we ran last night. For the first time,in any racing game,I'll be using a cam thats NOT chase.
Snappy, some of us are running a GBR rFactor 2 race this morning that starts at 8am PST, but should finish before 9am. Please give us a few minutes to switch over to your room.
Most of the fast times are on softs. The best Ive been able to hit in lobby is 2:01.xxx.
Race Day gents! Snappy has asked me to host the race today so please make sure you have me on your friends list (I think all of you are though). Zero, I can wait a few mins but not too long as others have plans right after this race as well.
ANYONE....Anybody have their times at Daytona...Just wanted to see if I am Hanging or to the Back of the Bus!
P.(arcell)S....Snoop...Just in case send over a FR!
Me to also looking to see where I'm at regarding lap times plz anyone :)
Stevie...Just ran some laps and gotta laugh with the time...2.04.555....Who Knows where that falls in???
P.(arcells)S....That is online time not garage.
That's a nice time, Wheels. I'm right around there as well.

Stevie...Me 2!!!....Seems lately...if someone is not Sharing...From the Back of the Bus we will be Staring!!!
All BS aside these races will most likely boil down to this...Tune or Doom..Open to opposing views. I have no issue with neither.
I
3G's...I will give your tune a run...And from a guy like me who does not tune...THANKS!
