I wasn't really interested in Game of Thrones until that sex and nudity thing. I reckon I'll have to check that out now.

Claim to fame time, I know the author of the books well, spent some time with him and his wife in New Mexico a few years back and George has one of my swords on his writing room wall that I presented to him on his 60th birthday, The event was celebrated here in Ireland and I was one of the organizers and performed a swordfight for him. So far I have turned down HBO three times when asked to work on the show. I visited the set in season one with George and went to a party with the cast in the evening.  In other news heading off to the west coast tomorrow to meet up with a friend over from Malta, a raven haired beauty who always gets me jealous looks when she is with me...doubly so when I have my wife on the other arm.  Can I help it if they have dirty minds?

So, a screen cred on GoT wouldn't benefit you at all? Really? Even if you never went back...I mean, people die on there left n right...if it's the nudity I get it. Hehe.

Oh mate if a screen credit was in the offing sure, but you don't get that just being on camera.

In other news, I put down a deposit on a car, an Audi Q3 2.0tdi 140 Quattro SE (2013). Not one I had considered, smaller than I had planned on, but one came up at the nearest Audi dealer and I thought as it did fill most of our needs, and most of the time I don't need all that space so adding a roof box would do the job, I thought I would take a look. It was at the bottom end of our budget, cheap to run, low tax and insurance. What a delight it was, okay in the usual German manner it was short of tech, but what a nice drive, everything that really mattered, comfort, road manners etc was just superb. It will get a move on if you want, buckets of torque, or will sit in sixth at stupidly low revs sipping fuel. Quattro AWD so winter driving and mild off road ready.  It's got the Audi approved plus warranty, Every service comes with a free years roadside assistance, and the one tech item I really wanted (cruise control) will be fitted free. Got a good deal on my current car...So yeah. Happy bunny, or I will be when I pick her up some time late next week. Photo's will be posted of a Knight with his new ride just as soon as I can be prised out of it.

Good morning all.

Anyone else confused by the seemingly simple like option to update the current games you're playing?

Confused?  No, pretty simple really.  cheeky

Just another update.  Possibly something that will tie into the tagging feature Doodi has been talking about that hasn't been fully integrated yet.

Sorry about that.  Forums were massively merged last night and ones that got merge counted as "update" since they were put into other forums.  Request/Report was merge into offtopic which is why you see everything as update.

Old games were merged into games and then tag with their appropriate game instead.

Been out on the golf course a lot trying to get as many rounds in before knee surgery -- medial meniscus tear and other problems --  so not much to report about.  Hopefully the surgery will be just an arthroscopy and nothing more.  Haven't been on much because golf and pain 24/7 wears me out.  Yesterday the knee became so painful it could bring a "tear to a glass eye" as a close British friend of mine used to say, so it may be time to store the clubs for awhile and get back into marathon gaming.  I do have a habit of getting a little wonky on pain pills so I am sure anyone running with me in a fire team will be entertained.

A few things.

A Mud Dauber Wasp made a cocoon/nest on the snow clearing shovel of my snow blower. I had never seen such a mysterious thing before.

A mouse made a nest inside the carburetor housing of my snow blower. The blower ran well enough but luckily I noticed leaves hanging out of the housing. The mouse had chewed a good chunk of the fuel line away. It was a very dangerous situation actually. The fuel line seems to be purposely close to the muffler. I can imagine an abrupt fire had it broken during use. Still waiting for the special fuel line to come in.

Anyone know how to properly create a 90 degree bend in SAE J30R7 fuel line? That would be for the next time this happens.

Wife and I went on a tour to a new Wind Turbine farm near here. Wow, massive! Very quiet too.

If it's a flexible line, get a ridgid 90 to insert in the middle of the line.

I got the replacement part today.

I considered a 90 degree rigid elbow but decided the extra potential for a leak was scary. I think the design is like it is to prevent water freezing in the line and carburetor frosting. If the line ever leaked, it could go directly on the exhaust.

Okay, so, I have some acreage, nothing huge but, I've been looking into selling some wood (trees) to make some cash while clearing some area.

Anyone proficient at calculating board feet? I'm probably going to estimate on the low side a bit as I know the guy I'm selling to is kinda new at this himself, and I'm not out to get rich off it, and I don't want him to burn himself in the process either.

I'm wondering if I should just price the trees or maybe simply tell him to halve the money with me whatever he gets?

Let's see if I can post from my iPod yet.. Hey everybody! Been a lot of BS going on here lately. First, hubby was in my car sitting at a red light when some asshat hit him from behind at full speed. He got knocked out, but is okay. My car-not so much. It's been in the shop for so many weeks I've lost count. They keep giving us a day it will be ready then the day before delivery day, they call and say "oops sorry." The rental car is the cheapest to be had but still costing a fucking fortune, and so far, asshat's insurance is still saying they can't pay for it. When hubs got hit, my car was pushed into another car. Those people weren't injured and didn't have to go to the ER. So they called insurance while hubs was getting his noggin checked for concussion. They demanded a rental right then. They got it. Now insurance says because they called first, they get it and not us. WTF. Then I had my chemo treatments for autoimmune diseases. My bp is always high during/for 2 weeks after treatments. This time they freaked out and refused to give me 2nd treatment, and sent me to the ER, saying I was about to have a stroke. The ER nurses and Drs were furious, saying my bp wasn't dangerously high. They sent me home. My primary care dr put me on a bp med temporarily so I could get the chemo center to give me my treatment. FFS. Other than all that, life is swell.

Starting to feel like the old gunslinger in the movie "Little Big Man."  Every time you see him in the movie another body part is missing.  This has been a real pain in the ass year -- bulging discs lower back and back trigger points causing constant spasms, hypothyroidism causing a sudden 25 lb weight gain and major fatigue, Sciatic nerve issue in my right hip and leg, and now major arthritis and torn medial meniscus in my left (good) knee.

The back pain and trigger points are being controlled to a point now by pain meds and an epilepsy med of all things (gabapentin).  The epilepsy med and physical therapy really helped with the hip and leg problem.  First thing I do now when I get up is back and hip stretching.  The knee problem started in July (when I first noticed it) and has been an issue without relief since.  Been in pain 24/7 since then.  Pain meds don't help.  I had to go thru a series of failed treatments -- cortisone injection, increased pain meds, and anti-inflammatory injection, before I got what was really needed all along -- an MRI showing the problem and a referral to an orthopedic surgeon.

Surgery (arthroscopy) is scheduled 10/21 with pre-op physical next week.   I cannot wait for this year to end.
