Xbox One will ship with a headset (edited from will not, due to updated info)
Another attempt at justifying the Kinect.
I can tell you the guys on the track aren't going to like that. Nothing like trying to race and listening to 4 other guys TV's broadcasting their own engines while you're trying to listen to your own for shifting purposes...
Of course, if the system were BC for older headsets, this wouldn't be a conversation...
Hold the horses, Turtle Beach is releasing an adapter...My X-11's MAY be compatible...
We'll see.
Well, there you have it folks. The first bundle add in.
Used to be a controller or a game. What I find especially funny is that many of us missed this information from the very beginning. XB1's advertising excluded it from day one. I specifically went to the official MS site to review the package contents. I missed that the headset wasn't included and was instead in the Accessories section. It wasn't hidden at all. A lot of us just made assumptions in spite of the obvious facts.
I may wait and try the Kinect for voice. A lot depends on when you buy your XB1
Super disappointing..

I can't imagine that relying on Kinect for multiplayer games, where you have to find that right balance between game sound and chat, will be all that great. Perhaps it will be adjustable, but I don't expect it will be anything like having a headset.
The reality of it is they included it because no one WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT voluntarily...
I hope the thing is more useful than the general public perceives it to be, or the rest of us for that matter...
It's no Jarvis (any Iron man fans?).
You (and others) keep using this hyperbole. It's not true.

Yeah, and how many are gathering dust?
I bought one and it's been used 5, maybe 6 times...
Boy, you sure showed me with your link and data...
Statistics are like a french bikini, they look really nice, but all the interesting stuffs hidden underneath...
And don't lecture me on statistics and data, it's what I do.
Excellent point. Sales is one thing, but actually usage is something totally different. Like you, I bought it, but only used it a handfull of times. Now, I have no idea where it is or if it even made the last move with me.
Lol@ the thought of trying to use kinect for multiplayer games!!! AHAHAHAAAA!!!
aren't we all playing online alone in the dark late at night? or is that just me?
oh no . $20. How will I ever afford that with my $500 console.
pretty sure most people who game with mics online will buy one.
P.S. this has been known since May.
The $20 mic doesn't bother me, but it sucks my Turtle Beach's won't work. I'll probably go back to playing with a standard mic for a while until I see how the headsets shake out, and find one that will work with both PS4 and XB1.
Johnny, someone said TBeach is making an adapter for their gear. I hope it's true.
agreed, that does suck. I'll be selling my old headphones except my A50s to keep for my 360, and buying a new set for the One.
Did anyone ever use the kit mic anyway?
I do.
I did for awhile. I still toss it on for quick and dirty if I don't need headphone audio. I like the thumb switch.
your opinion on whether people are using them is irrelevant in the discussion of whether people bought or will buy the Kinect. I provided facts to show it's one of the highest selling peripherals ever. Not sure what else I can do here.
Didn't a lot of the Forza guys see the functionality of the head tracking Kinect uses though?
Not really. I tried it,many of us did. It's more beneficial to simply adjust your display for a wider angle. Cheaper too.
I could be wrong, maybe someone will speak up and say they still use it, but I know many didn't. It was a neat idea that wasn't so neat when executed.
How many of the group bought the boxes, 3 monitors and 3 copies of Forza (and I assume a gaming wheel as well)? I always thought that was a cool idea.
Yeah...it was shite and unusable entirely if you were sat in anything that went higher than your head, like a race seat. I have one never use it, and don't want another. I am happy enough using a controller to control my xbox. As for using it for multiplayer, my box is connected to the centre monitor of my PC Race rig, if I am gaming my wife is watching TV, quite loud as her hearing has never been the best, The TV is only about 2 feet behind me, so anyone gaming with me would be sure to hear whatever was on it.
You cannot step out of the box, or make a deductive leap. Sad.
My experience in the gaming world bears out that many DID buy them originally, and because of it, they DIDN't want to buy another one. ( This is the leap if you missed it)
Are you deaf to the multitudes screaming online that they don't want another one or the added cost? (Sincerely hope you don't need links for this, the internets teeming with them.)
in numbers discussions, I go with facts, especially overwhelming facts. if you want to have a conjecture argument that will go on forever.
No, I'm gonna ignore you and move forward.
Kurupt
There are a few with multiple screen set ups. But in a group as large as we are, I'd guess, emphasis guess, that 20 would be high. If I had the room, and cost wasn't an issue, I'd sure do it in a heart beat. But...
And the triple box/triple connection causes some issues at times. I've seen the triple screen users have what appears to be an increased chance of problems getting into lobbies, maybe a 200% increase, hehe, who knows.
