Well to think about it a different way. Somone who does not have the Sony Eye may find the blinking LED distracting when playing solo, the only way to avoid that is to include a switch that can turn it off or if it does NOT detect the Eye being present and powered on it remains off. Why did it need to be added in the first place if that was a possibility? Kinda like adding in a tape deck to a radio that comes with a brand new car. It's easy enough to not include it and add a selectable connection cable that a customer can use with the type of music player they have.

Dude, never say "only" or "always" or "never", umm....

That first sentence of yours is a good rule for life, and not just in the forum.

I bought a wired controller that had LED lights in it, and, personally, I found it super annoying. It kept catching my attention, although it did have a way to toggle whether or not the lights were constantly on, blinking when vibrating, or just off.

Off is good in that instance.
if it had an on/vibrate switch mode, we'd never be able to find the damn things...or the batteries would be dead...
My complaint here is that I don't want everyone in my house to hear what is said over Live. I play in the living room with my family walking through and I don't want my kids to hear some of what is said online. The privacy of a headset ensures only I am hearing why my friends or the Timmies are saying.
One thing to note - the same features the glowstrip on the PS4 controller enables are present in the Xbox One controller. Things like switching the screen for split screen players depending on seated position, or making sure a persons controller goes to their screen if they only switch controllers. The Xbox console tracks the controller in 3D space and who is holding it, but without any visible and potentially distracting light emitted.
The PS4 controllers light would be aimed away from the person using it of course - right at the TV which can reflect such light. Make sense?
In any event, a lot more RnD went into the Xbox One controllers tracking obviously - its a visibly noticable difference, considering the lack of innovation on one of the consoles controllers is visible and comes in colors blue, red, green, and pink.

I have a Move for my PS3. The wife wanted to get it and I played a few games with it (4am, Tiger Woods, Killzone, whatever the sports game was called). There is zero noticeable reflection on the screen with the games I played. Even if it can't be disabled, I suspect it will be a non-issue.
Who cares what money was spent in R&D. Motion gaming still sucks.

Well it still could potentially be stuffed up your ass by morning. Just saying. One never knows with this crazy technology.

What, its supposed to be used for something else?
What the move? That ball on the end is pretty sizeable. I don't have enough lube stocked up to handle it. I'll have somebody stop at the Walgreens on their way over.
Damn all you people and your bitching. Just think of all the people that wanted to go into the next gen without headsets. You're holding technology back. I predict by midway through xbones lifecycle, m$ will transition to download only headsets and I will gladly wave as everyone who enjoys retro headsets has to walk 20 miles uphill in blizzards and tornadoes to purchase one while I download more RAM for my xbone. I hope everyone is happy.
PMs sent. Both of you, take a step back.
As an open comment, because console holy wars (TM) bring out the worst in people, don't be a dick about it.

Hahaha....remind me never to game at your house and pass out.
Well, I guess if duct tape over the controllers too restrictive, you could cover the TV with it instead? Problem solved...
Or step three steps to the right and change the line of sight angle...but I'm the idiot....
More worried about why I'm discussing something I have absolutely no interest in...
Remeber seeing that for the first time.ROFLMAO
