The WAR

If you did not grow up in Chicago, you may not understand this so I will explain it to you.  In Chicago, you are EITHER a Cubs fan OR you are a Sox fan.  Only the lowest of the lowest scum on the face of the Earth "say" that they root for both teams.  I personally find this disgusting.

A Pretty Good Day

So I took a day off work today to relieve some stress from work. We've been on the watch for layoffs since an announcement in December and we still haven't found out yet. Needless to say, there are a lot of people at my work who are on edge. I have not been sleeping well as a result.

I had the selfish intent to play some video games today but then MS took XBL down for maintenance. I still could have played (and still plan to play) some campaign but that can get old quickly. Plus, it was 75 and sunny for most of the morning and it was supposed to rain later.

Walking into the Wind

I walk through downtown Chicago pretty much everyday at lunch.  My father (who works 3 blocks north of me) thinks I'm nuts because I usually just take my suit jacket with me and little else.  Today was probably the last really cold day of the Spring and I was not about to let 30 degrees and high winds get between me and seeing the city on a bright and sunny day.

Xbox Live Vision

I bought the XBL Vision Cam today and while I'm sure it will add new wrinkles of fun to games in the future, there are not a whole lot of compelling reasons to buy one right away.

The Xbox360 Demo Effect

So I think it's well known by now that a great demo sells a great game.

I got to thinking - what successful games have never had demo's released on the marketplace?  I came up with Gears of War and Oblivion.  Can anyone think of others?

Also, some titles which were quite poorly advertised or not well known became much better known and played as a result of ther demos.  Dead Rising comes to mind.

What games come to your mind for demo's either selling the game or being conspicuously absent?

Enough Already

Right about now I start getting really sick of Winter.

I've gotten through the 5 degree days.

I've braved the 20 mph winds howling through the streets of downtown Chicago.

I've fought back the blinding snow.

I've dealt with my glasses frames getting so cold they felt like they were freezing to my face.

Enough Already.
