Blogs are ironic.

On the one hand, we want to "be known" by people - to let them into our world and want to stay (but, please, don't move anything - and don't put your feet on my furniture!).

On the other hand, sometimes our thoughts would provoke a reaction from others. Those doubts, insecurities, fears. The visions of dressing up like a gnome and dancing in a public place. Visions of going to Chuck E Cheese without a child just to play skeeball.

So, I was having one of those "bad days" where nothing was actually going wrong, I just hated the day itself. I mentioned it to a friend in IM and got this great response:

I think that for sometime now, I've greatly valued potential. You know, so-and-so player that was just drafted into the NFL has great potential. This job opportunity has potential written all over it. Yeah, things are rough, but this relationship has potential.

One of the scary things is that almost always, there is a thought process and a point to my *apparantly* random comments. I freely admit most people don't get them, but there really is a meaning.
