 So I work a lot.  Four or Five shifts in a row, 12 hour shifts, on my feet most of the time.  At my age, it takes a lot to do that, so I HAVE to keep in shape.  I work out on this non-impact machine I have in my bedroom, and I try to get a walk in when I can, sometimes a difficult thing to fit in.  So I worked 5 in a row, my first day off, and I work out a bit and decide to walk to the video store.  It’s a little overcast, but warm and breezy so out I go.  It’

Sometimes, theres this feeling I get that the only word I can find for is "ache".  It’s not necessarily an unpleasant feeling, although at times it deepens sharp and brief into a pain, then returns to its baseline hum.  It doesn’t affect my ability to function, or enjoy things that appear in front of me, or to concentrate on important tasks.  It somehow ….colors… my perception of things I see.  It’s not always there, shows up at the most unexpected times…at work…in the tub…playing halo…vacuuming.  A quot

Due to the fact that I wake now by 730 am now matter how late I stay up, there is ample time to ruminate on, well, pretty much everything.  This morning as I do the dishes, go through stacks of mail and make new stacks, I am thinking about the natural progression of life in general.  This is it.  Right now.  This is my life.  My life is not next week, or next month, or when this or that bill gets paid.  It is right now.  Am I happy?
