I finally bought Red Dead Redemption. I'm only a short way in, but I'd agree with the great reviews it's getting. (And I'd be playing a lot more if we didn't have out-of-town guests this weekend.)
After dinner last night, I came to the man cave to play a bit. My 12-year-old daughter walked in as Marston was galloping down the trail toward Hanging Rock. She asked the name of the game. I told her, and she replied, "Red Dead Redemption is Barbie Horse Adventures for men." I kinda see her point.

Slaying orcs, charting military campaigns and gunning down bad guys might not sound like things seniors would be interested in pursuing for fun or exercise.

Within four hours of starting COD: MW 2, halfway through Halo ODST and with Rock Band 2 hidden in the closet waiting for Christmas morning, I get the RROD. This on a console I received after losing my first console to the RROD while playing the original COD: MW.
If my previous experience with xbox support is any guide, then I expect a repaired console returned to me, factoring in that I now live overseas and use the APO system, no sooner than two or three months from now. That would make for an unfestive Christmas.
