I got up at 5:30 a.m. this morning as usual, but instead of checking the news and paying a few bills on line, I took advantage of the 8 hour time difference to get in a few last rounds of Halo 3 before the Beta was pulled. I got my copy of Crackdown about a week into the Beta testing, so my experience with the game was not as extensive as some, but overall I was impressed -- but not enough to proclaim it the next be all and end all in on-line gaming.

We're a television family, and one of the Murid family's faves is Amazing Race. Not that I would do any better, but really the entertainment in the show comes from watching the racers self-destruct. It's not the thrill of victory and new-found wealth, but watching people you've come to dislike because they are behaving like asses get their comeuppance. At least that's the thrill I get.
My children go to an international school. They might miss out on some American holidays, like having to go to school on Thanksgiving, and do not study American history. But thank God they are learning to play kickball.
