When do you get to the point that you are no longer interested in new music?  I'm still collecting new bands even though I'm approaching 30.  It amazes me that I still love listening to the Eagles, Hank Williams, Jr., Willie Nelson, the Moody Blues, CCR and other stuff I grew up on and yet I can hear something from Fall Out Boy, Coldplay, or Blue October and really get into it. 

When do you get to the point that you are no longer interested in new music?  I'm still collecting new bands even though I'm approaching 30.  It amazes me that I still love listening to the Eagles, Hank Williams, Jr., Willie Nelson, the Moody Blues, CCR and other stuff I grew up on and yet I can hear something from Fall Out Boy, Coldplay, or Blue October and really get into it. 

Mardi Gras has come and gone in SE Louisiana.  Seeing people heading out to party wearing hip waders or life jackets that say "New Orleans: Proud to Swim Home"  or "Returnee, not Refugee" shirt just cracks you up while making you a little sad at the same time.  The French Creole/ Cajun culture will endure, but New Orleans is crippled right now.  Daily murders and random shootings along with beauracratic paralysis have hamstrung the community.  People can't rebuild because of red tape to get insurance money, permits, basic services, etc.  And then random crime and violence makes them  wonder

So, once again, Tamiflu has made me just well enough that I can justify going into work, especially since I have Monday and Tuesday off for Mardi Gras and need to get some stuff done.  I stop by the local Oblivion Gate**, AKA Wal-Mart, to pick up some medicine, cough drops and frozen lunches.  There is 1 cashier open and 8 people are lined up.  At this point I look over at the 8 empty Self-Checkout lines.  I'm usually not a fan of businesses offloading stuff they used to take care of onto customers.  I still remember when a guy would bag and cart all the groceries to our car for a tip when

If your doctor ever offers you Tamiflu, do yourself a favor and just refuse.  My son's doctor gave my wife and I Tamiflu scripts after he showed up with a nasty case of the flu.  Both my son and I had flu shots this year, so apparently we needed tamiflu b/c the flu was not the one in the vaccine.  As far as I can tell, tamiflu only makes you feel good enough that you would feel guilty for not going to work.  Then you get to work and cough all over your co-workers and they have to go get Tamiflu.  It's a slick (sick) marketing scam.  I'm not as sick as my son, but the doc said we should take

After the "unforseeable" surge in traffic to the Microsoft / Old Spice challenge, I have to say that if MS can get their stuff together, they may have a good strategy here.  It looks like now that people are signed up for the whole reward challenge thing, many companies can sponsor a challenge to their target audience.  If Under Armor wants to sponsor a Madden/NCAA football challenge, it looks like they can under this new system.  Aside from a Sony-esque launch, this may be a piece one of the 4 things that MS needs to do to dominate this generation of consoles.  Here are those four things:
