Patches/Updates for Consoles

Having spent a lot of time as a PC gamer before getting a 360, patches don't really bother me.  I think that 360 owners get the best of both worlds, with updates to fix glitches and balance problems, but with a much simpler system than PC games.  I only have one big gripe.  I have no idea what the patches do.  How hard is it to have a pop up box that says something like:

Self-Matching

It is amazing to me how when playing Rainbow 6:Vegas, I will consistantly kill the same person and consistantly be killed by the same person.  In a match last night, I know that I was consistantly tagged in the head by a certain member of 2o2p and consistantly popped 2 people.  I guess that our playing styles and skills just matched up in such a way that that's how it worked.  Now to be fair, some of this is player's just knowing their strengths, knowing the maps and playing to that. But how do you make yourself a better player when someone is popping you in the head repeatedly?

My Wife Rocks

I get a forward from my wife today.  Someone from PopCap has given her codes for three free PopCap games from XBLA in the hopes that she'll mention them in a future article about gaming with family.  Knowing that my wife is a talented writer who has a limitless potential is cool, but free XBLA games?  That's a real score.  And before any of you even hint about it, if you try to take my wife from me I will do things to you that will make Seven and Saw look like episodes of Teletubbies.  Remember, my wife is the one thing keeping me sane.  You wouldn't like me when I'm not sane.

Peggle Addiction

So now I know that Peggle is addictive.  My wife and son (age 5) love it and I find it to be a pretty good game.  It reminds me of a Pachinko Machine from Japan, except it doesn't suck quarters (or yen, as the case may be).  Might even be a worthwhile translation to XBLA.  Which reminds me, when are we getting:

Two Good Things

Well, two good things happened last night.

1.  I finished the main quest of Oblivion.  Now if I can wrap up a few ends (theive's, fighter's, & mage's guilds), I'll put this game on a shelf for a while and focus on Vegas.
