Buy this blog now for $10 and get this empty space before I get around to developing new words to add to it. Way back at the beginning of the year, I posted a blog on why I don't make New Year's resolutions.  The timing, being completely arbitrary, is at a piss-poor time of year for those of us in northern climates.  Stress of the holidays, short days, and bitterly cold temperatures don't exactly encourage one to get out and be active. 

Especially when you don't like winter activities, like skiing or skating.  Basically, I hate winter and everything about it except how pretty the trees look with fresh snow (evergreens) or frost (hibernating deciduous trees).

Some missing yet... but still, pretty thorough.

The lady (and my mom) have been hounding me for a while to take everyone up to Boston for a summer vacation.  I'm not usually one for vacations as such - I have a hard time relaxing.  I have been on 2 real vacations since leaving college 18 years ago.  So, with the Boston trip, I have been keeping it in mind, but it wasn't until earlier this week that the brevity of summer became apparent.  I asked the lady when the boys were due to go back to school.  The answer:  August 12!  I then had her run down the schedule and it looks like next week is about the only time we can make this trip.

Don’t bow down before the lack luster, there is a reason why things are the way they are. If you want participation, then you must require it. This will then drive away those who are not dedicated and retain those who feel the requirement is non-existent in their modus operandi. If you plant a certain flower, you get a particular butterfly, if you don’t want flies or maggots you don’t put rotting meat on your door step. Action, reaction, we all live by a set of rules and we want to be around people who live by the same rules we do.
