Take 2 of these and call me in the morning.

There's something that I've never really understood about prescription drugs.  They seem to keep going up and up in price and there's lots of factors that lead to those price increases but the one that confuses me is advertising.  There's a significant chunk of the budgets of Eli Lilly, Phizer and more that is spent on advertising.  I wonder how much those pills would cost if that was scaled back 90%.  I mean, really, what is the advertising for?  I trust that my doctor will prescribe the drugs that I need when I need them.

Writing Blank Checks

If you've had even the slightest exposure to the news over the last few days, you know that there is currently a plan being pushed through Congress to bail out banks to the tune of 700 Billion Dollars.  So, because I don't know that much about macro economics and wasn't sure exactly what my tax money was buying I did a little research.  Along the way I came across this video on Boston.com from Barrack Obama regarding what happened yesterday in the negotations.

Don't know how to hyper link in the blog format but the video can be found here...

Jingle Jingle Jangle

I think it's safe to assume that if you've ever spent much time playing Rock Band, you'll be able to relate to this.  Nearly every time I hear a song on Sirius or on my Zune I'm thinking to myself, that would make an awesome DLC for Rock Band.  I can really start to pick up the drum lines and how they might chart.  I'm listening for how intricate the bass line is or if the vocals are in key or are more Mick Jagger in execution.  It adds a whole new dimension to the listening experience.  It also can lead to a little frustration.  The more songs I hear the more I want them to be in the game.

Voting for Boobs

For those who think that I am some how a brain dead voter who simply tows the party line, I thought I'd share a little something that I saw in the Convention coverage last night.

Extreme Is Back!

In the late Eighties/early Nineties my favorite band was Extreme. Now I know that's not a popular pick. It doesn't have the same luster that picking Metallica or Rush or Nirvana or some other "cool" band, but I liked 'em. In fact I liked them a lot. In fact, I'm pretty sure I own every CD that was ever produced for them. Including foreign single releases and a bootleg or two. In the mid Nineties the band members went their separate ways.

Lost at the LAN

So pretty much every year that I've gone to the LAN I've managed to misplace something.  It's usually never anything too big.  Usually just a memory card or a cable of some sort.  Unfortunately I just learned that I lost something more valuable then those things.  My Rock Band game saves.
