Vulnerability vs. Invulnerability

1973 Chateau Lascombes, Margaux, France  Second Growth, Grand Cru Clase in 1855

  Dark red, firm and full bodied wine with licorice, vanilla and carmel, now probably faded with herbal and earthy notes.

1973 Chateau Prieure-Lichine, Margaux, France  Fourth Growth, Grand Cru Clase in 1855

  54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.  Deep purple, Blackberry, cranberry and licorice, now probably faded into cedar and herbs.

I will be frank, I am a certain way and that’s the way I roll. I am friends with people who are like me and I have little tolerance for people who do not measure up to the standards I expect. I will start with low level connections but those low level connections are not less important those connections just have lower expectations or different expectations. Jumping down the proverbial economic steps of my financial future smashing down each concrete step on my kneecaps, I squeal in pain but it’s a triumphant middle finger of a squeal to old Uncle Sam. I am defiant in my protest. I am feeling the ornery pinch in my buttocks and yes it is unwanted touching. I think the bourgeoisie representatives are using imminent domain to man handle my checkbook.  They are more than happy to reach in my front pocket, give a gleeful squeeze and then take what they want.

I fear death and that is good because I have things to live for. I also fear green and black colored Halloween themed cotton candy because it’s spooky and smells faintly of evil. I fear choking on bbq, but only because I like it. I fear that if I bathed in rendered duck fat, I might develop a taste for it or something sinister might develop a taste for me such as heart disease or the spirit of the west.

If I was a dentist, I think I would have a problem with nitrous oxide; well it wouldn’t be a problem for me.
