Hump Day:

Half-way to freedom. Almost there. Just gotta hold out 2 more days and then the embrace of the weekend.....and some much needed sleep. I've been sleeping horribly the past week or so. Lots of bad dreams. They come and go so I know it won't last forever.

Got some games for my new PC rig. Oh man I'm loving it. Its good to be back into PC gaming again. Although I do remember why I left it. Installing games sucks balls. Sure they run faster from a hard drive....but there are ALOT of potential issues while installing a game.

For doodi.

Saw this yesterday. And the "Kind of a big deal" comment reminded me of your blog title.

Getting back into PC gaming.

A week or so ago, my Asus motherboard gave up the ghost in the form of a corrupted BIOS chip. It must have gotten zapped or pinged or something while I was cleaning the case out. Looking on Newegg & Tigerdirect.com, I could not find another motherboard to suit my needs for my current hardware. No one makes AGP boards anymore, or I couldn't find a MB that had 2 IDE slots, AND took my Pentium 4. So I had to spend more than I planned to get all new hardware.

Had to get a new processor, RAM, motherboard, and video card.

The difference between Wizzo butter and this dead crab!

Not too much has been going on recently, just work and some gaming in the evenings when I get home. Not much else to speak of.

The BIOS on my motherboard decided to die the other day as well. Well dunno if die is the right word. Whenever I boot the machine, it just sits at the post-op screen. Delete or F4 doesn't take me to the BIOS.

I tried resetting the CMOS jumpers & removing the battery for 10 minutes. Neither one worked. Took the ram out, unhooked the hard drive. Booted with my XP disc in the drive. Nothing.

Thats the bad news.

Too much going on. lol.

Its been a busy few weeks for me. Usually is this time of year...because the city I live in hosts about 10 or 15 different horse-based events. Triple Crown....Polo.....you name it. If it involves a horse...there's probably a show for it.

And a show or race means a program.....which means printing. Which means my shop probably does it.

So for 5 weeks straight....middle of March to middle of April....Howell Printing turns into Hell's Kitchen. Cept the owner doesn't have a cool British accent and a cheery disposition.

A nod to Nintendo.

A nod to Nintendo? you ask.... yes. I nod to Nintendo. Why? For the Wii.
Alot of you, including Codemonkey, knew of my disdain for this console and exactly what I thought about it. If you had of asked me six months ago if I was gonna get a Wii, I would have laughed at you.
