A decade

10 Years

10 years I've been with thee

10 years you've put up with me

10 years we've been through high's and lows

10 years of  a lot of yes's and no's

10 years it's been a long, tough road

10 years of smiles, and ribbons and bows

10 years you've been right by my side

10 years to change, you know I've tried

10 years with guidance from above

10 years with you, I've been in love.

From the lips of children and infants...

Last night, my wife and I experienced a wonderful moment in the life of our oldest son Jimmie. He prayed and asked Jesus to come into his heart! What a joyous occasion to celebrate! Stacy and I have been praying for our children on a consistent basis, and praying that Jesus would open their eyes so they can see His wonderful truth.

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Reality setting in

Ok, so what started out to be a decent day, became a sever dose of reality. Dr. Kendall (Mito doc) came by and met with Stacy and Dr. Blumenthal (GI doc) and everything came down to a couple of point hat felt like a jagged pill. First, Megan's disease is progressing. Sure, we knew that but hearing it again made it tough to hear from the doctor's mouth. The second point is what was like getting hit in the face with a 2 x 4. Dr. Kendall said, and Dr. Blumenthal agreed, as Megan's disease progresses, options and treatments get fewer and things get worse.

Hospital visit

So, I went to Scottish Rite to visit Stacy and Megan. She was doing pretty good. Playing in her bed and watching Toy Story. We went for a short walk. Short because she is worn out after a few steps. She accidentally pulled her IV out, OUCH! It was a bit messy, but she took it like a trooper. Got to meet with Dr. Blumenthal (GI doc) and he says that with mito patients, each cycle is a storm. A storm we have to weather. Let me tell you all something, this is our first storm in over a year, and it's been the toughest yet. Having said that, we know a TON of people are praying for us.

Today's news and another pic

Good afternoon guys. Megan had a pretty decent day yesterday. She was constantly filling up her drain tube so she was not able to vomit thankgoodness. Then last night came. Megan was sitting in bed and her nurse was giving her all of her meds. All of a sudden Megan started vomiting everywhere. This time it was filled with mucus, blood and formula. Her vomiting was very violent. We could not figure out why she was throwing up so much even with her drain tube. Her drain tube was over flowing as well. The other mystery is why she is backing up formula into her tummy from her intestines.
