Today's news and another pic

Good afternoon guys. Megan had a pretty decent day yesterday. She was constantly filling up her drain tube so she was not able to vomit thankgoodness. Then last night came. Megan was sitting in bed and her nurse was giving her all of her meds. All of a sudden Megan started vomiting everywhere. This time it was filled with mucus, blood and formula. Her vomiting was very violent. We could not figure out why she was throwing up so much even with her drain tube. Her drain tube was over flowing as well. The other mystery is why she is backing up formula into her tummy from her intestines.

Update and, yes, pictures

Okay, to save some time, I'm going to bullet point the update. Here we go.

*I visited today and Megan and momma seemed in good spirits.

* Megan is on a total of 17 meds right now to help control the vomiting. Seems to work, but then again she vomited this morning.

*She has this thing where her skin gets hot, but she's not running a temperature. This is typical of mito kids. (Sort of like Johnny Storm, but without the fire.) :)

*There is a slight chance she might get to come home tomorrow. :)

Today's events

So, we still haven't come home. Megan is on a bit of a roller coaster ride. She does good for about 3 or 4 hours, and then she goes through her vomiting spells. The fever is all but gone, so that's not a big deal. The nurses are trying to get the vomiting and mucus under control. The insert a tube through her nose and suction what mucus they can. I was witness to one of these today...not cool. Mucus causing the vomiting. The have been giving her medicine to help with it, and it works for a while, but then wears off and we start over again. Her IV had to be taken out due to her veins popping.

Updating everyone

I was in the midst of typing up a decent update when I received a phone call from Stacy. After visiting with Megan and momma, I was encouraged to see her smiling and laughing and asking for kisses. When I left she had fallen asleep. I received a phone call letting me know that Megan has thrown up some blood and has been unable to stop vomiting. The doctors came in and have decided to give her some meds that will dope her up enough to where she will go to sleep. No anesthesia, just meds. This way her stomach can settle down. They think she may have caught something else.

Quick Update

First of all, thank you all, so much, for the thoughts and prayers. It was a long night last night, as Stacy and Megan didn't get into a room until after midnight and didn't go to sleep until after 2AM. The news we have so far is that she has pneumonia, with a partially collapsed lung. This is what is causing all of the heavy and labored breathing. She also has Croup. I am getting ready to head down there for a little while and not really looking forward to seeing her looking miserable. Stacy called this morning and told me she looks awful. Looks worse than yesterday, which was bad enough.
