Tastes Like Chicken

Everybody likes chicken, right?  How about roosters?  Big, healthy, Rhode Island Red roosters that think 4:00 am is the crack of dawn!  I admit, we live in the country, and there are several animals in our neighborhood.  Numerous dogs and cats, donkeys, goats, horses, and CHICKENS!  I am told that this particular rooster just sorta wandered in and made his home outside my bedroom window.  Our next door neighbor about had a heart attack when he was out in the yard and right behind him a very loud, agitated "cock-a-doodle-doo" came out of nowhere.  Well, he adopted the poor rooster to keep his h

Update

Hubby is now getting PSA drawn every 3 months cuz it has been rising.  Yeh, still rising.  Still not a significant amount, but, like I have said before, there isn't supposed to be any at all.  The nurse called with his results today, and will speak with the doc and call back tomorrow.  uh oh.  Sounds like more treatment to me.  Don't want to go there again!  He is already slowing down a lot.  Not a good sign.  We shall see......

Happy Friday!

This is for all y'all and your concerns and questions. Yes, I have told hubby about the test. He did not show a lot of concern about it. After all, we've been there and done that before. But, he did go to the internet to find out what calcifications were. What a guy! Nothing else has been said. Soooooo..... I'm glad y'all are out there! And about IV sticks and bruising.....it happens. Even I, the one-stick wonder, miss sometimes. And, if veins are so fragile or abused that an IV can't be easily placed, then a port is in order, especially for chemo. Or even a PICC line.

Same old whine......

Geez, I hate to be a whiner, but slinging chemo is brutal!  I have been doing my job, saving lives, and it's killing me!  I would just about give anything for an 8 hour day and 4 or 5 loooooong treatments.  Today, I saw 10 patients.  Doesn't really sound like much, does it?  Well, they were all level 4 (out of 5) patients.  No details, but it means lots and lots of work.  And yesterday, I lost count after 12 patients.  I start begging them to stay in their chairs so I woudn't get anyone else.  They laugh at me!!  Tomorrow is Friday!    It will be yet another tuff day.  I know, I saw the sch

Continuing Saga

Grrrrr!!!!!  I am ready to do something drastic.  I left a message at 8:00 this morning for this person to call me, went and got my hair done, ran some errands, got home thinking I prolly missed the call,  NOT!!!!  never called me back.  So, I called again.  She's with a patient.  Ya, so!!!!!  I'm a patient, too!!!!  It is now 1:15, and I know it is too late to do anything yet today, especially since this person is already booked all day.  Just kill me now!  Cuz, god forbid, if I lose my temper, the whole world is gonna rock, anyways.

This is a PITA

It's been 3 days since I got a letter requesting I call for an appt for a "call-back" mammogram.  I went to the phone immediately the 1st day and tried, but they are booked up (even for call-backs) until August.  Ack!  I waited 6 months for my routine exam!  So, they tried to get me with the supervisor to see if we could overbook.  Not there.  Ok, I'll call back tomorrow.  It seems she is out until Monday.  They said they were sorry, called me honey and sweetie, and all that crap, but there was nothing they could do.  So, in the meantime, I waited 6 months to find out I have a suspicious ar
