Wait, in certain games can't you shake or move the controller to achieve whatever the ( like shaking the controller to turn on the flashlight in Last of Us) wouldn't the light only help to mezmerize people into a stupor and be otherwise useless without the Eye?
That and people have already stated that they will cover up the Kinect camera because they're being spied on. Since you can't shut the light off you can tape over it too....

Don't bother Kurupt, I been offering up duct tape till I was blue in the face, it's not hi-tech enough...

Electrical tape is the future, get with the times :P
At least it is an easy fix if peopel do find the light bar annoying. It also is easy to undo should they decide to purchase a PS4 Eye later. Not bad overall.
I might go add a standard headset to my console pre-order for Xbox One if I go to pay it off early.
Here's an aside though - for those buying it, and buying games digitally, think about gifts! If a non-gamer wants to buy you a game for whatever holiday or reason and you only want digital games, it seems that would be buying the person funds for their console. It'd be a gift card towards the game now rather than the game itself. I've been more fond of giving something other than giftcards, but thought of this the other day.
I hope there is a gift purchase method from one console user to give a game to another.
Not a big deal either way I think, but food for thought.

But duct tape comes in all kinds of colors, and before you say electrical tape does too, duct tape also comes in some interesting prints! Saw zebra stripe the other day...
Used to be Microsoft points gift cards were nice, but the points things is STILL gone right? Hard to keep up with the here today, gone tomorrow so far. I guess they'll still have gift cards just with regular cash now instead of points?
That'd be nice. I think a better way would be to redesign it so the light is visible to the player, but not outwards, towards the TV. Of course, that might get in the way of it being a functional sensor and all.
In the grand scheme of things, this isn't such a huge deal, though.
who could have predicted that you would be able to turn on/off a light using software? first we put a man on the moon - now we are able to turn lights on and off!! this world always amazes me. Next thing you know we'll be hearing that you can turn it off right from the consoles OS - mind BLOWN.
oh well I'm sure the misguided rage will find a new nitpicky thing to focus on.

For those concerned, the Dual shock light can be turned off by developers.

That adapter, that you 'must have' for your 360 headset, I wonder how much it will cost?

Same idea... less than 4 bucks.
