What I saw when I signed on -- 8 peeps playing MM -- so I jumped in with the over 50 crowd and turned down later invites from clannies because I was having too much fun with the old farts (and fartets). No reason to think that one HAS to play with clannies on clan night.
Clans, I know they can be good and bad. When you become part of the minority activity or opinion it is time to move on. It's about group bonds and bonding. Not much different than a lot of Clubs. I.E. Some good people I know all belonged to a local Lions Club. Eventually the local yocals from out in the sticks 1km from my place, felt the club only 8km away didn't represent them so they created a new branch. Same schtick, new leaders in charge. Their perception is they're now the cool kids on the block. My perception, they went through a lot of work to get control and the minions are now split between two Clubs. Shit, even switching between Curling clubs can earn you a traitor nickname.
So do I, but its my game anyway. I've been into Halo since I got hooked on Halo 2. I was good st 2, okay at three, bad at Reach, and HORRIBLE at 4. But I still play and have fun lol
@ Deep I get ya. I feel I'm in the minority in our clan, in that I'm all (and ONLY) about Halo. BUT I have some really good friends there. Friends I like to say happy birthday to. Friends I like to give support in time of personal crisis, or ask for support when I need it. Friends who aren't on FB, who, without the clan forum, I'd lose touch with. It really is like a family. My own family has changed since my brothers started procreating. We don't have game night, movie night, or tell funny stories anymore. Everything is about the babies. The two of us siblings with no kids are bored, and annoyed by all the noise. But they're still family, ya know? My clan ditched Halo. But they're still my clan.
@ Vix there are official clan night parties, then non official ones. Sometimes Jim will jump in with non clannies on clan night. Sometimes we have a party with people from the site. I THINK the rule is: if there's a leader present, and its an official clan night party, non clannies are forbidden. I know I've played MM with small parties on clan night with non clannies with no problems.

2. As minions, your job will be to recruit other minions. Then as lieutenant minions, I will let you guys boss those minions around a little.
3. On Tuesdays, Saturdays, and my Birthday, you aren't allowed to play games with anyone except other minions.
4. I will make arbitrary rules and changes without consulting you, but that's okay because it's my clan, not yours.
5. Thou Shalt Enforce My Will upon all other minions. Anyone who shows they are not a good fit for the team will be summarily executed. (Wait, did I say "executed"? Just kidding.)

Been spending the last week traveling all over Tunisia, from the lush north, to the Sahara in the south...It was epic, yeah I used the word because this was an amazing, eye opening, thought provoking and profoundly awesome experience. I have seen no TV, my phone was off, and I just soaked in the the totally new sights, sounds and smells. There were Camels, Bedouins, Tuareg, Berber Jasmine, Flamingos. Scenes unchanged since biblical times...One of those holidays you need a holiday to recover from (the best kind)
Tunisia is the country that started the Arab spring when a young market stall holder set fire to himself in a desperate protest against the despotic rulers only two years ago. Still going through changes, Mrs Knight and myself had many conversations about our perception of them, and theirs of us. We talk with many folk, learned many things, and made new friends that I will have to go back and see again.
Only been back a couple of hours so I will say more and post some pics when I have recovered.

I ran my first ever half-marathon yesterday! That was fun. I was pretty slow, though. Getting passed by a short, plump, middle-aged woman along the way was not fun. It was cloudy and rainy. About mile 12, it started pouring down rain. At that point I wasn't too bothered by how slow I was going. I just wanted to drag my ass across the finish line. I think I did it in 2:26 - not sure exactly.

A Roku is a streaming device for tv. So far I've added Netflix, pandora, slacker, and a bunch of free movie channels. It's pretty cool! The remote even comes with earbuds, so you can watch something loud late at night and not keep your spouse awake. $100. well spent :) There's no monthly fee or anything for the Roku, and it has a lot of free channels. Most have ads during your free movie. Some you can pay .99 to watch without ads.
Crackles an ok free channel if you didn't add it yet. They have an odd little series they're doing called Cleaners...
On a side note, I can't find anywhere to catch Walking Dead yet...(No cable T.V.) Have a Roku, and I'm not going to pay the fee's XBLive wants for any of their stuff, not going to happen...
On an upside, Supernatural just added another season on Netflix.
Completely removed my cable T.V. from cable bill, internet only, way cheaper...truthfully, the only show I used to make a point of watching was The Walking Dead, and I couldn't justify paying for all that for one show, soooooo...

The remote even comes with earbuds, so you can watch something loud late at night and not keep your spouse awake. $100. well spent :) There's no monthly fee or anything for the Roku, and it has a lot of free channels. Most have ads during your free movie. Some you can pay .99 to watch without ads.
