I was away for a couple of weeks on business and now my TX wheel feels like crap with the patches applied. Prior to going out of town, I had calibrated the wheel and set the myriad settings for each car per the spreadsheet from the Pcars forum. I had a strong FFB and was starting to enjoy the game. Now, after the patches, WTF?! Has anyone else with the TX wheel experienced this? I fired up FM5 and the wheel is working like always on that game.
I suppose I can play more golf or get my Forza tier up to level 8 to max out the rewards until Sept 15, but I was actually starting to appreciate Pcars... I still think there's a great game in there, but don't have the time to devote to researching the Pcar forum when I'd rather be racing (or golfing).

I gave up playing Project CARS on Xbox One because no matter what I tried, I could not get sufficient FFB in the center of the wheel during turns. Patch 1.4 is inbound and supposedly addresses FFB issues on the Xbox One. If it doesn't work, I give up. The game was released over a month ago and its still broken on Xbox One, at least for us TX wheel users.
Meanwhile, Project CARS on PC has been a sublime experience, the FFB is as good as any other title out there, the graphics are amazing and the racing is good fun, best AI ever in a racing game. I have two racing careers going, one is a GT centered career, the other is open wheel centered. Very cool...
I hear you. I tolerate the heat because I love to play, but lightning will get me off of the course this time of year. I must admit, Sept to Mar is the perfect time to play, and the courses tend to price it accordingly.
OK, I gave it another try on the xbone, reset my TX wheel and recalibrated per bmaniac's post on project cars site. I have to say, the FFB is very strong now with the 1.4 patch and all is well.
Finally got around to playing this game. The really good news is the huge wait allowed most of the early bugs to work themselves out as I started up the game went to race/practice and w/o setting anything and it felt pretty good right out of the gate. FFB was originally weak but setting the master scale of each car to a higher setting (after setting the overall game settings) resolved that quite easily.
Graphics seemed fine, tracks looked awesome and loved the cold tires but most importantly the physics seemed really good so that’s all Parcells needs.
Not sure if I was doing something wrong but it seemed like my setting for each car (which was only the master FFB scale) sometimes defaulted back and one time the game froze when I tried to simulate the rest of the practice session so then I decided to see how the open wheel cars handle…loved it but definitely different feel than the Clio :) Really need to work on my starts, haven’t figured that out yet…at ALL…I suck!
With quite a bit of pre-race practice (first time with game and new track for me) I was able to handle the 70% strength AI skill relative easily. Didn’t get around to trying the 80% which might be right for me but something tells me 75% (which is not an option) Is probably ideal :(
So if or when the on-line issues get fixed I could see some healthy races with this game. Definitely shows promise!!!
Rented this for the PS4 this week and been using my controller. It's a fun game, but it's no Forza for me. Doesn't have a lot of the cars I want to drive. I love racing and the rain coming in though, that's a really cool feature.
I just enjoy the fact that we have so many different options in the driving game catagory and more to come. If your old enough think back 10-15 years ago the limited choices we had. The driving sims good or bad are here to stay , as for me bring them on .
Granted I’ve only put in about 10 hours so far but I’m starting to believe this may be the best SIM racing game Parcells has ever run (does not include PC games). It’s just fantastic and I’ve barely scratched the surface of available options which could suck for all I know but the physics are superb!
Yet to run a 4WD car but the 3 cars I have run (FWD and RWD(front & mid)) all handle considerably different and the feel is awesome, really makes my Elite wheel stand out, very happy driving cars in this game. All these years of Forza and GT have really made Parcells enjoy racing road cars and in that regard this game is lacking big time perhaps even in overall car selection period. Good thing tracks are more important to Parcells
The available tracks are just incredible and as detailed(physics wise - bumps, kerbs, elevation changes etc.) as any GT or Forza game has ever been (Parcells hasn’t played Horizon 2 or FM5) and I can’t wait to run all the new tracks (dominantly real World tracks which are also my favorites) I’ve NEVER run before there are so many left upwards of 10 locales I would imagine. I may have run Watkins Glenn 20 plus years ago (early PC game) but that track was so much fun the flow to it was incredible even if I did feel a little dirty liking a predominantly Nascar track.
After completing my first career series (mostly dominant first place performance, thank you very much mostly to the AI skill level slider) I wanted to take a road car out and drive the 2 fantasy tracks (California highway and Azure coast – both 12+ miles almost 100 turns each) and perhaps a new or very old track (Race Pro had a bunch of these good tracks also) just for some fun. But I wanted(needed) it to be a RWD front engine and somewhat reluctantly settled with the BMW M1 coupe (reluctant as BMWs are historically not a Parcells favorite manufacturer – poor road car selection).
So the plan was to check out the fantasy tracks but then Road America was staring right at me so I licked my lips and proceeded to check out one of my favorite tracks I haven’t driven since FM4. I was in heaven, the track was incredible and the car was surprisingly awesome too. Ran close to a half hour before remembering I still need to check out the long fantasy tracks and both delivered big time, very picturesque. Ran each twice with my powerful BMW what a riot but would never want to race on these tracks.
Parcells completely agrees with Snappy’s endorsement of the AI in this game. You can engage in a close battle with them and they respond as you would hope they would which is not to say they will never hit/touch/tap your car when in said battle but they clearly give respect and give up a battle when realistically it’s the right thing to do. Was never one to care about AI racing since On-line is the way to go but regardless I find this AI very competent and will have no problem engaging in more races with them like I may do this afternoon?
I was close about thinking the unavailable 75% AI strength is perfect for Parcells but still no big deal, I’ll just have to get better in order to battle for wins against 80% AI. The one race(s) I did against AI at 80% (forgot to change to 80% at the start of event 4 of 5 in the Clio series) Parcells was battling for best of the worse of the mid-field runners trying to capture a top ten finish. Doesn’t matter though cause I had some really good battles with fucken AI drivers can you believe it? If you don’t believe that you also won’t believe this AI taught Parcells how to drive a particular turn on a track that I know really well (or maybe you would believe that I don’t know? - second last turn at Brands Hatch GP – left). No shit, during practice I was literally the last or second last car in the field but eventually realized all the AI drivers were carrying more speed into this turn and upon learning this I was able to qualify in 12th where I finished race one of two having gained and lost (and gained again) positions throughout the race.
Here’s hoping my next 10 hours with the game are as enjoyable and also that On-line racing is stable and offers cool race options.

I am sure there have been many other good reviews about the game in this thread but I was lucky to catch this one with my eyes. You certainly have peaked my interest on this one. And I am in the process of obtaining this game if only for a brief period for the PS4. Of course my opinion of this game will be the definitive one. As I am the only one who counts with me.
Have spent about 2 hours with the PS4 version. Not connected to internet so no online exp. Restarted the career portion after getting dizzy in the Karts. Currently in Touring & the Clio calendar. Had to reduce the AI slider down to 50 so they wouldn't leave me in the dust. Chuckled when the race stewards warned me about corner cutting about halfway into the 16 lap race. I was just trying to stay on the road. lol. Have run some TT's at Snetterton 200 in the stock Clio. It is the next race on the calendar so it just makes sense. Hopefully my marine son will relent and move the PS4 down to the man cave and then I'll get a GT with PS and download all the fixes which have ruined the Xbox One to a greater extent.
Have finished 4/5 race event in the 1st Renault Clio Cup. Just getting a feel for the game. I enjoy the fact that I can zone out and concentrate on the car in front of me and the race is over before I realize it. Could someone provide me with the link to signup for the PSN network. Putting this time in on my son's GT is redundant. I'm guessing it is similar to Xbox where I can do the equivalent of a Silver membership. I just want to get a GT. Hopefully my GT here is not taken. Otherwise I'll just put the necessary Xx______xX in.
Yeah, love qualifying on slicks and then tossed into a downpour race...
We interupt your normally scheduled program for this short quiz...
Was reading some feedback on the F1 site about next weekends race in Montreal. Grojean made the below comment regarding the track...
Hopefully it’ll be nice and sunny because it’s a race I really like – and it’s my favourite circuit to race on the Xbox
Montreal circuit on XBox??? Anyone know how he achieved this as in "what XBox game has this circuit?"

F1?
F1 201X I would imagine has that track. I have 2013 but have not made it that far in the season yet.
I hear him and Vestrapen are driving there together

what golfing game?
Hmm, I haven't updated that in a long time...like since before the kids were born...
How the hell do you golf in this florida heat?
I hear you. I tolerate the heat because I love to play, but lightning will get me off of the course this time of year. I must admit, Sept to Mar is the perfect time to play, and the courses tend to price it accordingly.

PS4 with Fanatec Elite.
Who here has PCars for the PS4?
I do along with Parcells. I actually have a series that runs on Tuesday Nights (week 1 next week)
Thank you (he says as his brain starts thinking)
