Busted up all the ceramic tile in the kitchen, am laying some plywood (1/2 done) and then 3/4 tongue n groove oak! Buddy gave me 1500 sq ft of it, give or take from his rental he's redoing and I'm running it through the planer I bought a month ago and urethaning before laying it down. As the wood was free and I wanted the planer anyway, I bought a new air gun to drive the nails specifically for this. I can do it at my leisure (for those asking why not rent) and we are considering doing the bedroom (I got a LOT of wood...). I figure I'll either keep or sell the thing when I'm done. I will never use laminate flooring again, ever ever ever ever. The real stuff is so much easier to use and work with...
Heck I wonder what else I can do with the extra oak I'll have left over? Kitchens only about 200-250 sq. ft, bedrooms maybe 300 sq. ft? I got a LOT of wood...
Oh, my ass, and everything else is damn sore today...
Oh Parcells, I can do whatever i want to what ever i want, as long as i can afford it and I can google it.
I have many tools...
Tools, the grown man toys. :)
I have a kitchen floor to finish, retrim the counters with oak to match flooring, wife wants a couch similar to the one I did for the newlyweds for her lobby at her office, I have an entertainment center I want to build for the new T.V. on my Christmas list, and maybe a new pantry, or refurbish of the existing one minimally, new trim and doors perhaps. Oh, and foot stools which are selling for $40-$50 a pop when I have the time.
I might be busy awhile.
Winter does conspire to get in the way though. What I really need is a 2 1/2 car garage for all my tools to play in...
Heads up for those who are running Windows 10 on their PCs. Major update rolling out today. Looks like it will take some time to complete. Hope it doesn't blow anything up. New XBONE dashboard update rolling out today as well and takes about 15 minutes or so to complete (depending on your interwebz speed of course).
Yes. XBOX update went fine for me as well. Still getting used to the new "experience." I did find 3 360 games ready to install. Rainbow Six might be interesting but the other 2 -- bleh.
The desktop/laptop update is much more involved, almost like upgrading from 8 or 8.1 to 10, but a bit faster. My laptop updated fine and after a little hiccup my desktop did as well.
Parcells is seriously considering updating both the XOne and my laptop this weekend.
Just accepted 9-10 friend requests on XOne. I think it was this thread Oldschool schooled me on this procedure, he was right...most were recent, since I bought the XOne (2 months ago) but one was a year old LOL...followers, what's that all about?
Call me old school (not address me, that be insulting to the real OldSchool) but the tried and true "new friend request message" was more than sufficient to manage your new friends, what have we become as a society? I'll add that "follower" is a smidgen away from "stalker".
After I accepted all my stalkers as friends Microsoft kindly offered me some "recommended for you" OR "you may like" new friends which made me ponder "which is it? Are these recommended friends or friends I "may" like there's a difference, make up your mind and stop trying to appease all. Serenity now!"
Regardless of what Microsoft was trying to prove Parcells was happy to find out MS knows little about me if that was the best they could come up with for recommended friends...talk about your pathetic losers.
A little optimistic in my post about WIndows 10 upgrade working fine. Homegroup is effed up again, like it was in the original upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Currently jumping thru hoops to get that working. You would think that M$ would have fixed this, but no......
Delete the idstore.sset file found in the \Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking folder of your system drive (for example, drive C).
Then restart your computer.
Of course they misspelled the file name and there are actually 3 idstore files with this update. My recommendation --
-- go to the Peernetworking folder referenced above and delete the idstore files (should be 3 and they are at the bottom of the folder). You will need to be able to see hidden files and have the ability to perform admin functions. Do this on all pc's on the network.
-- power down all pc's.
-- power up one and go to Homegroup in Control Panel. You should be prompted to create a new Homegroup. Go ahead and create. Then power up each other pc in succession and join new Homegroup. When done, reset sharing permissions on all folders you want shared on each PC. In essence, like you were creating and joining a Homegroup for the first time.
This worked for me.
Plan B is to change the SSID on you network and then go back and redo the steps above.
I cannot believe that M$ effed Homegroup up so much in the original Windows 10 upgrade and and then not fixing it for this one, even after many reports of the problem, especially since Homegroup is a pretty big functional selling point of Windows OS.
Hope this helps.
Update - another problem.
Apparently this new update downloaded Windows 10 device drivers again, some updated I suppose. The problem is that if one's desktop or laptop has other than vanilla devices installed then there may be a problem. I noticed over the last couple of days that the wireless connection on my laptop was occasionally dropping and the connect speed was documented as 12 mps even though the adapter and network is ac. After much head scratching and initially thinking it was my router, I determined that the wireless driver was the wrong one. I had to do a bit of a search for the correct drivers (bluetooth as well) for my Killer 1525 adapter. Once found and installed, everything was back to normal. Thanks yet again M$.
A user should not have to deal with this crap! If you are having problems, check your device drivers vs. your devices.
So I often get emotional and upset at people who are not nice to me in some way whether it be directly or indirectly (such as forgetting to e-mail me for 3 months because they are introverted and poor communicators). So I will get a rash idea to delete them out of my contacts or remove them from my XBL friends list; and sometimes I get angry at the people who play with the people I think are jerks (because at times I get deeply annoyed). Then I feel guilty and re-friend them...so one person asked me yesterday why didn't show up on his friends list. I was like...ummmmmm...I don't know. I think that's why I am so accepting of other people's craziness, is because I understand it.

I've said it before, there's a lot of old people in Nova Scotia. Too many. I didn't know how bad it was until I visited my home town in the north. I was shocked from my visit to a big chain grocery store! The age ratios were way out of whack. I think I observed 3/1 people >70 to those <30.

These grandiose home improvement stories make Parcells feel inferior but I do enjoy the apartment lifestyle so I guess I'm OK with it.

15 acres of hardwoods growing round me. Seriously contemplating a small sawmill set up. Maybe just a really big bandsaw and some conveyor tables.
Awesome to hear you're on the upswing Achy...'bout damn time! :)

XBONE update quite sorely needed, been a week n a half since they fubar'd the damn thing with the last update.
No problems with the last update for me.

Connectivity of multiplayer across many games went to shit after the last update. This one supposed to correct this among other things.
I was just touching my toes and swallowed and saliva went rampaging through my nasal cavity; IT BURNS IT BURNS!!!!!!

That one is a continual fight here as well it would seem.
For those with this problem M$ suggests this:
Delete the idstore.sset file found in the \Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking folder of your system drive (for example, drive C). Then restart your computer.

How do you contain your "crazy"?

I just crank up some Joan Jett and chill...

No joking, it felt like trouble.
Old People are trouble. The older I get the more trouble I get into. It's called Darwin's Entitlement program funded by the call of the wild.
Spray and pray is how I describe my bathroom habits. Comment redacted.
Can we add bathroom habits to the list of taboo subjects here at 2O2P...Knight, can you do anything here?
Either way, farts.
Healthy farts?
They have a certain aroma.
