For some reason in the car, I get bored with anything I have control over? iPod, cd...even on shuffle I know what's on the iPod so I get bored. Sat radio throws surprises my way.
With several hundred Cd's on my iPod, I can still be surprised. It's a great way to remind myself of music I may not have played in years, it is like a radio station that only plays music I like. Though as I say I mostly listen the the news stations, especially Newstalk that I love to argue with...Not many stations have DJ's that describe themselves on air as a curmudgeonly old bollocks...Irresistable. :)
We have a few of those around here. Had a pair in Florida years ago called themselves the "Love Doctors". Obstinate grumpy old men is what they were, but they made some good points at times.
So we were at the aquarium and I say to wife, hey that cute fish over there looks like you. And of course it's name is the cow fish and it eats garbage. Best vacation day 2015!
I'm back. Glad to see everyone's holidays went fairly well. Mine were nice and quiet. This past weekend was spent replacing the throttle body & rear wheel bearing on the daily driver...then sick as hell yesterday. I couldn't even be bothered to watch tv. Started Hulu and passed out on the couch mid afternoon. Surprisingly, I felt ok this morning so I trundled off to work.
I posted this to Farcebook...Folk seemed to like it, so I reproduce it here for you good folk that avoid it.
So another icon of music has left us. I was fascinated by him as a teenager. Myself and the secret unrequited love of my life at the time would listen to the Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album on repeat. I can't remember if she introduced it to me or I introduced it to her...It spoke to us both, we were outsiders, drawn together on the school playground, nerds? geeks? freaks? I don't know, never felt we fell into any box. Neither did Bowie, he was like us. A year or so later he was playing the Brighton Dome. I was living there at the time, dossing down at a friends house. StJohn North. Known to all as Singe. We had history that I am not going into here, but we were close from going through a few years of childhood that no child should have, and the scars bonded us. Anyhow we had no money, and as far as I was concerned no way to see our hero. Singe had a plan, hang out at the backstage door when the crew arrived and hope to blag our way in. Soon as the truck pulled up a huge hairy roadie spotted us and asked if we wanted to help out to hump the gear for a back stage pass. Well that plan of Singe's paid dividends, we met the band...David was in and out for the sound check and no we did not what I call meet, but we got a smile and a nod and front seats at the gig. David was a force of nature, you felt the energy before a note was played, just the act of walking on stage sent shivers up and down your spine. The world is a poorer place today.
That was a good read Knight. You could have one hell of an short story autobiography compilation with some of the memoir postings you've written here and on FB.

Ha ha, yeah...Quite a few folk have said I should do something in the authoring line. I've indeed pondered on using my various posts on different sites as a base, I have had a bizarre life...But, I don't know. It's easy enough to throw together a post that I hope entertains in some way. But further than that? That is a whole new ball game. Maybe one day.
Hoping to pick up a guitar today if I can get the guy to message me back. It's an ESP LTD EC-50 with Dimbebucker. I haven't played in about 10 years. Was never very good in the first place but hoping to actually learn this time.

So did you get the guitar? Looks like a good choice, decent reviews and cheap enough not to break the bank. 10 years is a long break, going to take a while to toughen up those fingertips again but good luck and stick at it. :)
No go on guitar. Looked like I had just missed it. Probably going to end up getting this kit next Friday unless I can find a good deal else where. Need to find a good metal petal as well that isn't going to kill my bank account.

Looking to stay under $50. Been looking around some more and I can get a used Line 6 Spider IV amp from Guitar Center for about $50 which would eliminate the need for a pedal. Then I would just have to buy the guitar, cable, picks, strap, and tuner. I'm hoping to not spend anymore then $300 for everything.

Perked a nice cup of coffee this aft. 14 oz in fact.
Forgot to put the cup under the drip hole. :(
I remember the love doctors lol
I guess I don't have enough stuff on my iPod.
R.I.P. David Bowie.

Sounds like fun to me...
Bought my first gaming console 12 years ago at the spry age of 36.
Bought my first cell phone 3 days ago.
Time flies.
And how many days on Facebook now?
Too many. Resistance is futile.
You think you're better than me?
